Help, soft burrs in his feet and under his chin! I just went to let Koda off his line from pottying and he wasn't there! Well his vest had ripped and he got loose. Well little nosey himself found some of thiese burr like things, they are pretty much soft but pointy on the ends. He has them stuck under his chin, 2 of them and 3 of them under his front left paw!! They don't seem to bother him until I try to pull his hair apart gently to let them loose. He jumps straight up and takes off. How am i going to get these out?!?!:confused: I know they must be hurting him when any pressure is applied. It's 1 am and i was about ready to go to bed. But i need to get these out first. He isn't trying to do it himself, in fact he is snuggled up sleeping in his bed! Help, I won't be able to sleep till they are out! Maybe a bath? TIA! |

Oh, I hate it when they find those little burrs. We have a fenced yard and they still find some here. I get out what I can and then use my little rounded end scissors and snip them until they fall out. |
Bubba seems to now where there is a patch in my yard :eek: I posted a mth or so ago about how I hate them & need a way to get them out of the yard. Anyway, I do find a bath really helps, I am usually able to easily remove them without any pain to him. I also use Cloud Star's Buddy Splash & a little spray of this wonderful product helps loosen them up |
Gizmo gets into stickers and burrs all of the time! :rolleyes: In fact, that was my very first post! He got some right next to his nose...he went face first into stickers on his first trip outside! :eek: We use conditioner for the ones that are really tough. They slide right out. :thumbup: |
Mojo has gotten into those little burrs before on a hike...how, I have no clue...anyway, I didn't wash him...we had hand lotion and the ones that we couldn't get out easily (which most of them did come out easily), we used some hand lotion (we were in the car back from the hike), and they seemed to come out more easily. If they are on the pads of the feet, it is pretty easy to cut that hair. I have a very small trimmer for dogs - it is much like a personal trimmer or the guys nose/ear hair trimmer (sorry that's gross, but that is what it is like) and it works well for cutting a small section...that way, you don't have to buzz all the hair.
