Victoria, BC! Anyone here from Victoria, BC? I'd love to meet up for a puppy play date! |
Sorry I don't. But I wanted to say hi |
Seeking a Yorkie Puppy Hi, I live in Duncan. I am looking to purchase a puppy. I am getting very frustrated with my searching. I had a Yorkie that passed at 12 years of age. He had a baby doll face and growth weight of 3.5 lbs. He was very healthy during his life and a joy to me. I have been corresponding with breeders who have been warning me of disreputable breeders. The breeders are telling me that no reputable breeder will sell Baby Dolls as they are not the standard. Can you help me. I do not know what to do. Thanks Starburst :) |
Hi:) Just read this post. I live close, but not close enough, on the mainland, but thought I'd drop by to say 'Hello'. Cheers! |
Hi nice to hear from you. I found a yorkie in Duncan, BC on the Island. We are so pleased with him. He is a real character(Brat) but we love him :) |

WeeJordi Boy Mom October 29, 2014 Hi, I live in Duncan, BC. Planning a move to Alberta. We bought a Yorkie from a breeder on Vancouver Island. He is 18 months old now. We love him to pieces. I noticed him squinting, took him to the Vet right away. Seems he has Canine Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca (KCS). He had surgery. They sutured his third eyelid to cover his eye to heal. He is on multiple eye drops and he will be for life. The Vet said it is hereditary. Should I tell the breeder that her breeding lines may have a problem? I was so devastated for the little guy. Sonja :) |

Yes to the comment about selling tactics such as Baby Doll and teacups. A reputable breeder does not use these terms nor would someone purposely breed for less than about 5 lbs. A small one can occur in a litter but if I do get one that is particularly small, due dilligence is my norm on observing etc that pup to ensure it is not a health issue that it is that small. I usually keep them until spay/neuter time, have my Vet do the procedure as going under anasthesia will often tell me of chances that there is something amiss that health testing has not revealed. |
