Anyone Gone to Dr. DeAngelis? My Yorkie has been diagnosed with 2 luxating patellas. So my vet referred me to an orthopedic surgeon. His name is Doctor Martin Deangelis. He works at the Village Animal Clinic in Ardsley, NY. I have been reading about him at their website (http://www.villageanimalclinicny.com/) and he sounds like a great surgeon. I was just wondering if anyone on YT has been to him for surgery? If so is he a caring surgeon and was the surgery a success? I have an appoinment for a consultation next week with him so I just wanted to hear some feedback on him before that. |
Here's my take. You are in NY and you have the BEST surgeons at you access and also being that NY is expensive, my advice is to make sure the surgeon is Board Certified. If this Doctor is Board Certified, than I say go for the consult. However, if he is not, then I would suggest seeking another one out. I just feel that if you have come to the 'acceptance' of paying a high price for a necessary surgery, than you really want the BEST of the BEST. ;) |

I do believe that we are very lucky in the Tri-state area to have some of the BEST surgeons around. I don't know if that means he is Board Cert. - Maybe call the place and ask. Roxy had both legs done at the same time. She was only suppose to stay over 2 nights, but I opted to pay for a 3rd night. I work fulltime and felt it was better to have the care at the hospital rather than no care at home. |
I just checked the website. Yes, he is Board Certified and I also read he was published just last year for a paper on ACL surgery. Not that anything is a guarantee but it sounds like he's "up to the minute" in his techniques. Good Luck to you! |
