PlayhousePuppies.com ??? Hello to everyone. I am looking into getting my first yorkie. Can anyone offer feedback on Playhouse Puppies based in Maywood, NJ? I havent found much on them (good or bad). Your help is greatly appreciated. -Rachel |
i can already tell you that you need to stick with someone who only breeds yorkshire terriers. she has chi, yorkies, maltese, bulldogs, and pugs. this just looks like the breeder doesn't strive to better the quality of the yorkshire terrier. they are just breeding. i cannot for the life of me see all these dogs living in their home. on the reference page, she has boston terriers, cavilier king charles, lab. it appears she has a different web for the other dogs. i would say "no" but this is jmo |
Thanks Thanks Lisa, I've been unsure. Just hoping somebody had a past experience with them. |
I got my puppy from this breeder a few weeks ago. I did a fair amount of research before I purchased him. The website indicates that there are multiple dogs for sale, this is because they are not one breeder, it is a family. The mother breeds labs and 2 of the daughters breed Yorkies, and then I think there are two aunts that breed other dogs, all in different locations. This is at least my understanding. I bought my Yorkie from Jackie. She was very nice and professioal. When I met with her I also got to meet both of my puppy's parents and see that they were not just product suppliers for her, they are her beloved pets that had puppies. The puppies are running around her house and not kept in kennels, my impression is that they are part of the family. After reading so much about puppy mills this was an important aspect for me. Based on what research I did they met a few of the big requirements. They advertise that they will ALWAYS take their dogs back. This is very important because they do not want their dogs to ever end up in a shelter they would rather you return the dog to them. They also have a spay/neuter contract and offer health guarantees as well. My puppy, Bruno, got a clean bill of health from the vet and so far things are going great! I think there is another sister that breeds Yorkies that is having a liter in the next 2 months. I have not met her but based off of my experience I would reccomend this breeer. I would advise planning a trip out to their house to see the puppies and their environment for you to make your own impression. I hope this helps! |
