Be sure to go early, as it gets really hot later on in the day. The swag bag ain't so shabby either.

this is such a great event. i went the past 3 years with morgan. Last year i went early but it wasn't early enough. the place was packed and i had to park in the last lot possible and wait for the little bus to pick us up (thank god for that bus). It was so hot that day, it was ridiculous. morgan was panting, i was sweating. carrying around the swag bag plus whatever i bought wasn't easy either. i really wish they would change the time of year for this event. its just too gross outside. i don't think i'm gonna go this year.

I do highly recommend this event though because it is so much fun. there are so many vendors, rescues, and things for you and your yorkie to do. if you can take the heat, you will have a blast!

I've attended the last three years also. Last year I volunteered, and was stationed at one of the lemonade stands. Luckily we had a tent for some shade, volunteers were provided lunch, and also got a mini swag bag at the end of the day. My schedule is too packed that weekend to permit me to volunteer, so I'm going to be there in the morning.

We only recently moved to the area, but we are so excited to attend this event! I hoping we can take the heat since we are originally from Atlanta. I'm thinking I'll bring the girls stroller with cooling pad. They love to walk around, but they do get hot in a hurry.

Also, what do you suggest in terms of early? 9:00?

Plan to get there a little before 9:00 so you don't have to park as far. The location is in a warehouse/business area - parking is in the adjacent business' lots. Also the grassy area where the cooling pools are gets pretty mushy as the day progresses. Also since this is your first year attending, you want to give yourself plenty of time to see/participate before it gets unbearable.

I just got back from the "preview" day. Had breakfast, played rescue bingo, and picked up my goodie bags. If you complete the rescue bingo card you pick one of three fragrance sets. The special patron swag bag is a reusable tote filled with lots of L'oreal products, a couple of dog food/treat samples, and literature.
