Finding a puppy in NJ
 
We've been looking for a puppy for quite a while with no luck except for puppy mill type breeders and brokers. Any ideas for finding a yorkie or yorkie mix pup in NJ? We would travel to NY or PA. We've been checking Petfinder but it's so hit or miss and we'd like to get a puppy now while everyone is home for the summer. Thanks!

Have you looked at the yorkies for sale on this site. There are a lot of very nice and knowledgeable breeders.

Yes, I've checked but I'm new to the site and have not found any in the NY/NJ area but perhaps I've missed them.

A lot of times they are willing to meet you halfway by car, so it does not hurt to expand the search and ask.

My husband and I got our first yorkie, Dexter, from Easthill Yorkshire Terriers in April 2008. He has been such a great dog that we decided to get Dexter a friend earlier this year. We called Jack Moffitt at Easthill and we were able to bring Morgan home in March this year. We are so happy with our two boys! They are very healthy and are terrific dogs. Easthill is AKC certified and are wonderful breeders! Here is Jack's contact information:

I was looking at a yorkie rescue the other day and noticed that there were quite a few from NJ---please give it a look:)

We got Mack from Holly Stellatano at Yellow gate farm and kennel. He is such a sweet dog. She is AKC and she is in the Flemington area. Her prices are very reasonable as well.

Please do look at our rescue page: Welcome to Save A Yorkie Rescue, Inc. We have several puppies at the moment.

Rescue is the way to go if you really want to save a dog's life. There are always Yorkies available.

Do your homework so you can answer questions about the breed for the application.

We are picky about who gets our dogs but we are the best way to get a Yorkie.
