Needing some advice I found a breeder but she's not from the recommended Ytca. She's been breeding for three years now. I asked all the right questions and she asked me some questions too. Do anyone think that three years is too short of a time and is it bad not to be YTCA recommended? She invited me to meet the puppies and gave me references but they are emails, by the way we only connect thru emails, and she has a contract that sounds very believable and honest. In the contract she states that she will take the pup back at anytime if owner cannot keep pup. She also has health guarantees like if the pup is diagnosed with a life threatening cogenital defect before 12mo old they will replace the pup. Are these things to make me steer away or toward this breeder? She definitely fit the criteria of a good breeder but I just need some more reassurance. HELP:confused: |
I don't think the YTCA has recommended breeders, just a breeder referral list of members that meet certain conditions. I think you can get a good Yorkie from a breeder that is not on the YTCA breeder referral list. Both of mine came from breeder's that are not on the YTCA list, & I am very satisfied. Do research & ask questions, like you are doing. If you can visit it the breeder to check conditions, see the parents & pups you will learn a lot about the breeder. Also, search Yorkie Talk using the breeder's name to see if there are any posts by or about the breeder. |
hi you should definatly be talking to her on the phone where you can get a good feel of the person and see if you can stop by to see her pups and check out the parents you will know if you want to purchase a puppy from her let your good judgement be your guide .....trust yourself if something tells you somethings wrong go with it n take somebody with you:D let me know how it goes after your meet up :thumbdown |
