Grass potty?
 
This might be a silly question but my DH told me that his boss said that we should get a potty that has grass on it so that Maxi will know to go on the grass. We are using the pee pads now. he used to be so good and go on them all the time, but for the last couple of days he is totally ignoring the pad and doing his business on the floor. We arent sure why, we havent changed any routines.

So anyway, has anyone heard of these things.. there are a ton of brands but here is one of them: http://www.petapotty.com/MINI_PETaPOTTY.html

I'd go for the real thing. Grass that is. Is Maxi old enough & had his shots so he can be walked outside on real grass?

actually, he hasnt had all his shots yet, so we cant go outside but either way there is no grass by my house. Only cement sidewalks.. the closest park is a 20 min car ride away, which we will go to eventually but not to go potty. So that why I was looking at the inside one. He was going on his pee pads but lately he has been chewing them up

ava used to chew them too; however she stopped after i bought pad holder from petco. they hold down the pad and the puppy won't be able to pull it or chew it.

thanks, we actually have the pad holder and Maxi rips it off there with no problem! I even tried spraying that organic stuff that no chew spray and he is still doing it.

really; which pad holder you have; ava couldn't take it apart; i had the one that holds the pad on both sides; so a dog can't really take it apart.

He doesnt take it apart, he actually chews the pad in the middle and them rips holes in the middle of it and then thats end of it really lol.. I have the one that is white and then you put the pad in and then it has 4 interlocking corners so its a big square. We had orignially got the one from Petco that snaps in place and it comes in colors, we got the blue one, and that one was worse, her refused to go on it maybe cause it was smaller than the other one.

oh; cute; i think that's normal for them to chew; ava ate the whole house when she was teething especially; whenever you see him chewing on the pad, stop him and tell him to stop with a firm voice; he will get it eventually. dont let him play with the pad; he will think it's a toy and okay to chew it up

the pups all outgrow that shredding of the pad thing. i bought one of the dog pottys (litter box for dogs) but my guys have been using wee wee pads for 10 years and couldn't get used to the box or the grass. i tried putting the pad in it first but my male just lifted his leg on the outside of the box.

Another suggestion is to make your own? I looked at the site and WOW those people are expensive! They charge $65.00 just to personalize one.

Yeah I was originally going to do that but I priced it out for the wood and stuff and the fake grass and it came out to be more, so i ordered the potty patch for $40 ... we will see how that goes :rolleyes:

Can you please send me the link where you ordered from? The ones I see start at $199.00. I think I would like something like this during the winter time when there is snow on the ground. None of us like to go out then! :D

I totally hear you, I hate going on in the snow! Its called potty patch, there is a whole thread under the products and reveiw section and another YT memeber kindly told me she got it and it works for her, so I thought why not, I spend more money on pads anyway lol.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the Potty Patch as we are thinking of ordering one. Milo is starting to soak through the wee wee pads and I am tired of washing and disinfecting my kitchen floor several times a day.
