Nd pup who'll grow BIG to carry spirit of my 16 yo baby who just died! Hi I'm incredibly heartbroken. My baby who was amazingly strong and sweet just died at 16 and a half. He was a little athlete who adored fetching, especially in the ocean! I wanted to wait, but my 40 pound beagle-springer mix is so sad and lonely. we need another big boy so he'll have a friend. My problem is that I've had 3 Yorkies in the last 40 years — and all were 11-12 pounds. No one seems to advertise when they have pups which they think will grow big. I really would like a baby boy who is likely to grow to at least about 8 pounds or more, even, is better. I just don't want a fragile pup. If anyone knows of one who has the potential to grow big and is healthy, please do let me know. Thanks so very much! I'm just miserable, missing my baby every minute. Only a baby pup will help. Welcome to YT. I am sorry to hear of your loss of your yorkie. I have always found for me that getting another helps heal my heartache as the distraction helps. Did you look in the for sale section here? I have seen soe larger puppies for sale recently. I hope you find your new friend soon. |
I'm so sorry you lost your baby. I don't breed so I don't have any suggestions for you but I wanted to express my sympathy for you and with you luck in finding a new addition to your family. |

My heart goes out to you and your other fur kid and family. There were some YT folks who had the larger Yorkie puppies for sale not long ago. Mayb if anyone else has them they will see your post and contact you. ;) |
Thanks so much for your kindness, thoughts and ideas My 13 yo 38 pound Angel (no, not a huge Yorkie) and are are missing his 12 pound, 16 yo brother TiMop so much! It's so incredibly difficult. we both thank you all for your kind thoughts and advice! I'll let you all know if we're successful in finding a new brother to adopt for ANgel. He's so depressed! At least he's not like my last Yorkie who didn't eat or bark for 2 weeks when his kitty died. the film institute where I worked then in the Caribbean actually forced my then hubby and I to take him on a beach vacation for a few days so that he could play and swim and start to get over his loss. It actually worked after he made a final check of our apt in all of the areas where they used to play hide-and-seek. when he realized she wasn't there for sure, he finally barked and pointed his nose in the direction of his cookies — and life resumed. He lived on healthily and happily until nearly 16. He was actually the ancestor of my TiMop whom we just lost 2 Sundays ago. My big boy, Angel, won't even sleep with me now as he looks for TiMop, gets nervous and moves onto the dog day bed, meant for small dogs only. hanks again Vanyoska |
I am sorry to hear of your loss and hope your sadness will lessen as you remember the happy moments you had during his time with you and your family. |
I too am sorry to hear about your loss and my heart goes out to you. I am sure you will find another as there are many larger yorkies on advertised on here from time to time. Best wishes in your search! |
I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. I do have one question. Would a puppy Yorkie be too much for the 13 yr old??? |
Hi No, my 13 yo is very active. He loves all dogs and cats and plays all of the time in the dog run, in the part which is reserved for small dogs (under 23 pounds). Because of his brother, he is allowed to be in this run. Everyone calls him the diplomat as he befriends all of the critters and their parents. We are also living temporarily with a 30 pound 3 yo and he is in love with her. thanks for you concern Vanyoska |
