Events in October in New York City Hi All just thought i post a few events going on in October, I am definetly going to try and make it to all of them !:aimeeyork:thumbup: Event # 1 My Dog Loves Central Park Country Fair Central Park (mid-Park at 72nd Street, between the Bandshell and Sheep Meadow) Saturday, October 18 11:00 am FREE City canines and their two-legged companions will want to come, sit, and stay at the My Dog Loves Central Park Country Fair presented by Rachael Ray Nutrish™. Activities include: an agility course, interactive maze, musical chairs (for pets and owners), dog tales storytelling, photos with your pooch, a pet psychic, activities for puppies and senior dogs, an "Ask the Vet" booth, microchip clinic, service dog demonstrations, and great giveaways! Does your pet have a trick up his paw? Show off at an open "pet tricks" casting call with crew from The Late Show with David Letterman. The popular Best in Park Dog Show puts pups tail to tail to see who displays the best canine behavior during "WALK WITH ME," "SIT AND GREET," and "RELIABLE RECALL". Celebrity judges will help decide which four-legged competitor best embodies the characteristics of a good Central Park citizen. Central Park Conservancy: Event #2 Times Square goes to the dogs for a fun-filled afternoon of canine camaraderie to raise awareness for Animal Haven’s Adopt-a-Pet program. WHEN: Sunday, October 19, 2008 WHERE: In Times Square on Duffy Square, 46th St and Broadway. Dogs of all breeds and sizes are invited to dress up and enter the contest, with prizes awarded to the dogs whose costume best evoked Times Square’s past or present, including historical figures like the VJ Day Sailor and Nurse, current Times Square characters such as New Year’s Eve celebrants, or even Broadway icons like the Phantom of the Opera. Additional prizes are awarded to the runners-up, or “Honorable Hounds”. Winners are selected by spectators and by celebrity judges. Times Square Alliance - About Us - Events Event #3 The 18th Annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Noon Dress up the dogs. The frightening fun and screams begin at noon. yes and these are really good ones...I hope to run into you there...I know it will be hard to find anyone. I have been unable to find people in smaller crowds than this will be.:) tina |

My Cookie had such a good time on October 18 @ My Dog Loves Central Park Country Fair. She got to meet a whole lot of doggies and as soon as she got home went straight to sleep, hehe. |

The 18th Annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade For those of you planning to attend the The 18th Annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade I is was just on there site Friends of First Run and the event was changed to Sunday, October 26 at Noon due to the expected rain on Saturday. Just though I would pass the info along. |

Hi, No... I was soooo bummed!! I forgot my camera and didnt realize it until I got there!!! :( Mallory was wearing a little pink sweatshirt with white fur around the hood. Mickey didnt have his sweater on cause he was running around like a beast, but he is a teapot (15 lbs), he had a red harness on, and chances are he had a big blue frisbee in his mouth! hehe Sound Familiar? :) |

I wish I knew about the Regional section beforehand. We were at the My Dog Loves Central Park Fair and met a few Yorkies, but I don't think they were from YT. |
