Kalina, Matty Lu, Harley, and Chip were all in the race! :D We had so much stuff we had to take it to the car so that we didn't have to drag it around. It was such a lot of fun. It was just as much stuff going on as last year, which surprised me. My girls are exhausted. |
Had a great time. Got there early and left about 11:15a. Bubba and Sissy are out cold on the couch. I'm in for next year. |
Diach and I carpooled, we arrived right around 9. After we picked up our goodie bags we played Dogopoly before heading to the car. VersaCart didn't survive so well on the wet grass, so after Dogopoly it went back into the car. Dog trivia was harder than I thought, then when I did the haymaze they switched up the course:eek: Between Diach and I we had three boxes of milkbones from the bone stacking contest. I ended up giving them out to my neighbors who have big dogs. I think we did every activity there was up to the Yorkie Race, then we left. I met Jerseygal, and Sookie, probably saw a whole bunch of other YT'rs but didn't know who they were. |

Wow! What a great event. Thanks Amy for letting me borrow Harley. Even though Murphy did not go, he is enjoying all the treats and the toys. |
Hip hip hooray...Because Your Dog Is Worth It Too Day! Well, we did it! Our first year at BYDIWIT Day!!! Unfortunately we got off to a late start and we got a little lost (we were right around the corner and didn't realize it!) We got there around two o"clock. It was suppose to be from 9-3 but as we were getting out of the car, we asked a lady if it was over and she said "Not hardly". It's not over until around 4! We were happy so we took off over the hill and towards the festival! We walked around a little bit and bought our admission ticket and got our admission bracelet so that we could walk the rest of the grounds. The only part we hated was that it was very muddy in a lot of areas. I think it was due to the HUGE pools that were all over as drinking stations and cool off points for the dogs. I think that once the water got too dirty to drink and wade in, they dumped the water out onto the grass and refilled the pools. No problem, just had to watch were you walk and make sure you didn't slip! All in all we had a really nice time. Refreshments were reasonably priced, the free sample stations for the dogs were really nice! Brooklyn came home with his favorite cobblers from Nutro and a host of other things that he was able to share with his big brother (who was unable to come)! The gift bags from Loreal were not what I had expected. Instead of little party bags (like I thought). When you redeemed your "gift bag ticket" they handed you these fabulous big pink Loreal shopping bag filled with so many cosmetics, toiletries and dog treats you thought you had just gone shopping! For the mere 10 dollar admission price...your gift bag had to filled with between 50-100 dollars worth of merchandise! Everyone was very nice. I was unable to recognize other YTers but saw a lot of adorable yorkies out there! Brooklyn was wearing a green & white surf tank top and a pair of blue jeans. He looked so nice. He tried to get to know everyone but made it his point to bark & go ballistic at all the big dogs! We did a lot of walking and Brooklyn had the chance to get in one of the wading pools to cool down. He also took the opportunity to seek shade at each vendors table that I stopped at. Brooklyn doesn't have the chance to meet a lot of other dogs but I hope that maybe more YTers that read this message who are in the local area might want to get together for a "play date" out in the Cranbury area. The area is very beautiful (use to work out that way). Hoping that the festival was able to raise a lot of money in the fight to conquer cancer. Brooklyn and I were honored to be apart of the effort today. Brooklyn's Great Grandmother (my grandmother) passed away 2 years ago from Lymphoma Cancer. She was my everything and didn't get the chance to meet Brooklyn. But I decided that after her passing that each year I would do at least one thing (no matter how small) to help the fight of ANY kind of cancer! Blessings to those who have lost a loved one, continued blessings to those who are survivors of this disease. Today was in honor of all of you.:clapsmile |
Me and the furbutts went yesterday....had a GREAT time. I ran into so many of my neighbors there I felt like I never left home...but then I knew they were going...some of us even left at the same time but arrived at different times. I didn't see any YT'ers....except for one person that I talked to for about 10 mins. or so. But it was really a great time can't wait till next year...and I really wasn't going to go at first, lol.;) Tina |
I went to the casinos instead... I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut when approached with nasty comments be certain people and I didnt feel like dealing with it no matter how petty and minor it was |
sounds like everyone had fun! |
Hey me and my friend Cynthia went with our pups and i didnt see anyone that i recognized:( we got there at around 10:30am and i must say it was muddy in the grass area. I wore flip flops and my feet were sinking into the muddy grass ewwww it was gross. But we got so much goodies wow i think the stuff we got this year was better than last years. There was definetly more people and pups this year than last year, this year they had two areas that had burgers and hot dogs and last year they didnt. It was a awesome event for a awesome cause and i am glad i went. Rocky was so tired he didnt want to walk anymore i had to keep carrying him and although he's only 8lbs. He would feel heavy so i had to carry him put him on the floor lol. |
Well I finally found a stroller for Bryan yesterday morning at Petsmart in Paramus....we got there about Noon....what a great event!!! I'm soooo glad that I brought the stroller from Petsmart, it was only $89.00 because there are discontinuing them, but I think my Bryan became a little overwhelmed by all of the other dogs and it was hot!!! Everytime I went to a table he would go under the table and ly down....so I popped him in his stroller and he was fine! He can in first place at the yorkie race:D but lost when the winners raced. He slept all the way home in his car seat.....We hung out with Katrina and Maxi(the kissing yorkie) all day and had a blast. I will definately be there next year:thumbup: |
