Wow that must have been a Nasty Scrape:( I don't know how long the flight was but I do feel for her having that pain and Crying the whole fight.

Kids Cry
Dogs Cry.

If I was on a Flight and a Kid was Crying that's one thing it is annoying but normal. What would upset me is a Child acting out of control and there parent Not doing a Darn thing about it.
*Yes kids will be kid* But When in a plain with all those other people you have to make the Behave period.
I have a Child I have Flown with her and she was made to sit still and I made sure to bring things for her to do. (sitting still is had Bre is ADHA)

Now We pay money to bring our dogs on and have to shove them under a seat?
I can see not taking them out of the bag but just to Shove them under a seat and not bother with them till the plain lands??? that is just wrong. We don't have to do that with Kids.
Although I am sure there are people who would love that.


I choose to Drive with my pups that way they are more comfortable.

I have 4 siblings all younger than me, lol 18, 13, 11, and 9. I am 24 and babysat mostly all of them and I definitely learned how much a "bag of tricks" can help, LOL. Sometimes I would be watching the younger 3 and be completely outnumbered hehe :p .

why thank you - you get us! Finally someone has clarity. It was the presumption people had in line waiting to board that my dog would act up, chew them all to pieces or crap in the bag and I wouldn't clean it up. I have never seen anyone point to someone's child and ask, "you're bringing that on board?" It's the individual person/parent/pet owner. I've never blamed the kids for deciding mid-air to throw a wing ding of a tantrum. But I've seen too many parents ignore it. Definite control issues but they were allowing their children to upset the entire flight. Attendants should have spoken to them and they hardly ever do, but one always "hovers" around the pet person. Its true. i guess we all should just try to get along :friendsh:

I never said I didnt agree...what bothers me is the way a child is compared to a dog. but this could go on and on and on so I will just leave it alone now.

Not sure what you mean by didn't agree but anyhoo, children are being compared to animals because it is presumed that they are going to be a nuisance to all on the flight, when, in fact, MOST ARE NOT. It is unfair we pay for carryon while something we love is contained therein. It is well documented that most parents *i have two grown children* have issues when their children become monsters mid air, but flight attendants become oblivious. (Have a puppy fart and they're on ya like vultures. Just an observation.) Kids are fabulous as long as the parents are in control which they are not any more. Pet owners too share this responsibility. Control. Most pets in carriers seem to have parents in control. Maybe carriers for kids? j/k

I fly with Lucy monthly. We just returned from North Carolina. I've only flown Delta so far with her and the attitude is hit or miss...We were delayed 2 1/2 hours coming home and she was out of the carrier on my lap in the terminal the entire time. Everyone loved her including the attendants who were waiting for our flight to board. I was lucky enough to get upgraded and took Lucy out as soon as possible and had her in my lap. The First Class attendant had no problem with it but then a steward (man) from the back came up front for something and told me I had to "bag it and zip it". I did, but kept her in my lap. When he was gone the attendant came by and told me it was okay to take her out again...lol.

I'm one of the lucky ones with Lucy. She can fly all day and have no problems. The only time she whined was when she had to potty so I took her to the bathroom, put a pad on the floor and she went and that was that.

On the off topic of children - C'mon, of course it is agitating to hear a crying baby/child but they are children-out of their element and comfort zone and if a parent had to guarantee their child wouldn't make a peep they would not be able to go anywhere by air :) The topic of out of control children/parents could have it's own thread with many responses I'm sure! :)

Oh, goodness - I just left yesterday, the 30th! Sorry we missed you we had 80s almost every day - but this next week looks much, much colder - but not as cold as it is here in Iowa - I wish I didn't have to come home

Most airlines don't care if you take them from under the seat, but if they tell you to put them back you have to respect that and understand. I've been fortunate, When I've taken my dog, if I have an empty seat I seat him on the seat next to me, and unzip the top of the bad. BUT he is well behaved, no noise, doesn't try to get out, etc.

I was told by the flight attendant at a minimum they have to be under the seat from take off and landing. I don't think that is too much to ask for the safety of your baby.
