Florida Vacation 1 Attachment(s) We recently returned from a week in Florida where Macy and Molly explored Panama City Beach. I couldn't believe the number of people that travel with dogs and the dog friendly restaurants in FL. They didn't enjoy the ocean but loved the sand. |
hehe too cute!! love the sandy faces!! |
oh how nice!! I have traveled with Remy--- to Virginia. It wasn't too hard for the most part. I was "caught" a couple of times in restaurants...my bag started whimpering  even so they were more interested in Remy then giving me a hard time. We live close to the Florida Keys... they are dog friendly and we take her there often. |
We tried to find a restaurant with outside seating and were only told once that they don't allow dogs. Also, Panama City Beach has a neat outdoor mall that is extremely dog friendly. Dogs are welcome in most stores. Maybe we'll try Virginia next. |
Lil Sis, notice the Choke Free harnesses??? |
Isn't a Florida vacation nicer when you can take your baby? Sophie Kate LOVES going to Destin and Seaside. The girl loves the sand and walking on the beach. Your babies look like they had a GREAT time. |

Hi! Your babies are adorable! We are thinking about going to Panama City Beach in a few weeks. Do you mind telling me where you stayed? I'm looking for a hotel on or close to beach if possible. Thanks! |
Actually seems we're going to Destin. Any recommendations on Destin Fl? Thnx! |

I suggest you use VRBO.com (Vacation Rentals By Owner). You can do a search on the specific area and use the filter to include Pet Friendly. I have used them many times, this site has a very good reputation. I do know the Hampton Inn in Fort Walton will take pets (we stayed there once before finding VRBO). Also you can check out the website www.BringFido.com , they have listing by area. |
Thank you ladies for the info. I have been looking on bringfido.com but seems dogs are not allowed in Destin Fl! :( I will look @vrbo and see what I find. Thanks again! |
For some reason Panama City is about the only dog friendly beach in that area. Destin and a few others in that area are very strict on their no dogs allowed rules. We went to Seagrove Beach, FL and dogs are allowed on the beach only if you are a permanent resident. I didn't see them stopping people and asking for ID so I took Buster and Maggie. Next time we will stay in Panama City. |
Panama City has one dog friendly beach at one end of the beach and I can't remember what direction. There is a dog friendly restaurant at the beginning of the dog beach where you can sit outside and watch the ocean. We also walked through the nice outside mall across the street from the beach and all most all the stores were nice about you bringing your dog in the store. As we walked along the dog friendly beach, I understand why dogs aren't allowed on most beaches. PEOPLE, PICK UP YOUR DOG POOP!!!!. I am always embarrassed when I walk somewhere with my dogs and see piles of dog poop on the ground. I am afraid people think my dogs are the ones that pooped there and I didn't clean up. I also noticed people walking their dogs on beaches where it was clearly marked...NO DOGS ALLOWED. |
We went to Virginia Beach last year in August and stayed at the Sheraton Beachfront there. It was a very pet friendly hotel that was extremely accommodating. There was a really nice pool and cabana bar with an outdoor restaurant. They were very welcoming to her! It is marked that the dogs aren't supposed to be on the boardwalk or the beach but you see them everywhere. Despite some limitations I would say it was a good vacation to take her along on, she loved it! AND we loved taking her with us so we could really relax and enjoy with her also. :-) In fact, we have reservations for the same place again in August and plan to take our little boy Guinness for his first vacation ever! We lost Bella in February and I miss her terribly but I smile when I think that sweet little girl went on more vacations than many people do...Cape Cod, Myrtle Beach, Virginia Beach! She loved the beach :-) |
