Looking forward to our Cottage vacation It is already past mid July and hubby and I have rented a cottage for the mid 2 wks in August. Our destination is 15minutes south of Huntsville on Lake Minomenee First time to this Lake and the cottage. But we have a big dock (according to pics), a paddle boat, and a little fishing boat, plus a swimming raft off the dock :) We hope to have some guests up for a few days, and hope our trainer and breeder of Razzle is also able to make it. I am looking at hiking places around our cottage. Kind of planning for the trip. We that is the dogs and I love to go to the dock and swim and dock jump, and MOm's can read books in between exercise times. Hubby usually goes fishing early morning to lunch hour or so. Then we can hike, although it is often more mid day, and that is not so great on really hot days. Anyhoo just looking really forward to this vacation. |
Sounds great, a real check-out from the hustle-bustle of daily life. |
Oh sounds like a lovely vacation. Wishing you safe travels and plenty of fun adventures. :) |
I'm imagining it all. Sounds dreamy. Can smell the coffee now. There is nothing like morning coffee in a cottage by the lake as the sun is coming up and the day looms ahead. I'll bet you all have so much fun. |
Cougars and rattlesnakes Yuck Cougars are officially back in Ontario Oh joy and in the area we are going to:eek::eek: Plus the Missassauga Rattler. Although according to the article they are not aggressive towards humans. Still very rare sightings. I am more concerned with black bears, then cougars:) |
Still sounds like a great vacation plan! |
oh how nice!!! I have been there... or the area!!! About 12 to 14 years ago we drove up from Miami to the Huntsville area and rented a cottage on Mary Lake for a few years in a row. It was soooo nice and different then anything I had experenced. Huntsville was small and sweet. We loved it! |

Great thanks a lot. Yes I am going to buy a new video camera that has 40x zoom. We now have two tripods, plus I have my GoPro video camera. So I can set up Video on dock, and take stills on repetitive shooting mode, and go into the water too with my GoPro:D:D:D Hubby is the still photographer, he always gets great shots. But he likes to fish in the morning and is not usually back until after lunch, so the boys and I have the morning to ourselves. WE like to play/train/swim what-ever! |
3 day countdown Woo Hoo 3days to go!. My living room is accumulating with pretrip things, my lists are growing; first prelim grocery done! Chili made, Spaghetti Sauce made. Last is final meat and fish order to pickup - market for fresh fruits. Laundry almost finished - just three more loads to go. Doggy things being packed up - water bag is first. 2dogs to wash prior to trip. Doggy blankets and beds washed up. Still debating on spending the $$ on a 40x video camera:wink::wink: But I loved how Ilona could get so close to the pups in the water with that camera. First Aid kit, checked out and refreshed. Cameras are recharging, and so is video camera. Sunscreens bought, and bug repellent. And dang it all I forgot to get the tomatoe juice today... Why well best thing for getting out a skunk smell! But Oh dear there was a bear attack of a human in Sandbanks Prov Park. Jeesh what a thing to read before we go away to bear country. Thankfully man is alright, but one of his dogs died protecting him. I heard that they were Schnauzers. Don't know if they were Giant or Standard size. In either case, what brave beasties they are/were. They drove the bear away from their owner. So we got bears cougars, raccoons, skunks, and coyotes. My first thing I packed was my whistle, and my big umbrella:D But looking forward to starry nights, delicious sunsets and rises. Long lazy days, swimming and playing. Relaxed grooming and training. Walking/hiking. And I know it sounds silly, but I fell in love with paddle boating. Great lower body exercise, and my big boy can swim beside the boat. Now I have not mentioned READING. Love it. Have lots of books I want to read. |
Sounds like your going to need a lot more than 2 weeks to a accomplish all that's on your agenda. Wish we could join you. Have a great time and enjoy the relaxation. |
