Favorite/best carrier for plane travel??? Just booked our flights to go home to Oregon for Christmas:D..we are leaving on the 16th....of course we are taking our new baby, Beckham home to meet his Schnauzer brother Kobe and his other Yorkie sister Chelsea, should be great..I am really nervous to travel with him though...never taken an animal on a plane before.. I have been on DogJaunt already, it is great site... My question at the moment is ( I am sure I will have more to come)... which carriers have you all used and which carriers do you like the best... and the worst??? Beckham is, I guess, what is called a "teapot" ;)..he weighs 12 lbs at 5 months...I really want him to be ok during the flights and am worried about his comfort.... thank goodness we are on nonstop flights going to Oregon AND coming back to Kansas...I am reading about all different carriers and getting all confused, there are so many... I would apreciate any advice you have... thanks! |

I traveled on Southwest a few years ago and used a medium sized Sherpa pet carrier for my 10 pound boy. It was absolutely perfect! Original Deluxe Airline Approved Dog or Cat Carrier by Sherpa |

Karen is correct. We have the same carrier for our 17 lb. teapot Shih Tzu, Lola, and it works fine for her. Happy Trails! |

I ordered and received today the green and brown Sheep's.... Soooooooo now how do I get him to go in it??? Lol... He is pretty spoiled... Never been in a carrier yet... I tried putting some treats inside... He just reaches his head in far enough to grab them and run.... Little bugger!! |

I too have the sherpa bag, Raelle loves it, she goes right in! Do you crate your boy? Raelle was crated when she was younger....now the sherpa is just like another crate to her, just much more comfortable |

I did crate him when I first got him....I have to confess I'm not good about crating him now though....I only work 2 hours a day...so I tire him out really well in the morning before I go to work at 1:00, then I just put him in my master bath room with his toys and his doggie bed and a baby gate....he is very spoiled.....lol |

I have (and sell) both the jaraden soho bag and the kwigy Bo bags. They do have a new larger soho bag and I really like that one best |

Jenn- Put Beckham in. Give him a treat. Put him in (and zipped up). Give him a treat. Repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat. Eventually he will grow to love his bag. I fly with all four of my babies very often. Everyone does great in their bags because they know they will get treats. Happy Trails to you! |
