Traveling with 2 Dogs. What would you suggest When you take your dogs for rides, do you suggest having a booster seat, or not. As of now mine have just been riding in the passager seat (with the airbag off) and without a booster seat. We don't go very far, maybe 30 miles one way, but still. I have heard alot about the snoozer booster seat. Is it worth the money? Thank You! :D |
I just got one of those a couple of weeks ago. She seems to love it. Before that I used an outward hound seat that straps around the seat. She hated it because she wanted to be right next to me. Even after months of using it she would still throw a fit. But she's happy as a lark in the snoozer seat because its so close she can still put her foot on my shoulder when she wants to and she can see great too. It seems good, sturdy & stable. I'm very happy with it. |
I travel with 2 small dogs, one my Yorkie, the other my Mini Schnauzer. What I have eventually settled on as the best option for me is my wire crate. It is big enough for both, easy for them to get into and lay down, and totally secure. My Yorkie was not a good car seat puppy...she always managed to either get out of the seat and hang by the harness...or then with a certain harness, she got out of the harness totally. For me, its about what would happen if I was in a car accident...I want them both to be secured in a protective space. I live in a big city...even going to the store could result in a car crash... |
1 Attachment(s) I travel with my cat and Yorkie. They both have a booster seat next to a window. They both really like them, although Ody (cat) sometimes gets POed because he wants to sit on Daddy's lap while Mommy is driving... Here's a picture of Zeus in his. |

When you go any distance, we make a habit of stopping every 2 - 2.5 hrs for potty and stretch breaks. We always stop for a picnic lunch at a suitable spot and take about 1-1.5 hours for a nice lunch and a long walk with the pups. They love it! |
We are traveling in our RV right now. I bought a snoozer buddie seat for my two They seemed to like it in the car but not as much in RV. They kept getting out the side of it and hang from their harness. I ended up using the straps and hooking them to the sofa seat belt For some reason they are happy now. Maybe because they haven't gotten use to it yet? Sure hope it get's better since I bought it? |
Mine are always secured in the car. I would hate it if I was in a car accident and my babies were injured flying through the car. The Yorkies are harnessed into booster seats in the back seat generally but I do have to move a booster seat to the passenger seat (air bag off) occasionally if taking all the dogs. A golden and 2 booster seats don't all fit on the back seat of a small SUV. Buddy wears a harness in the car. Crates don't fit in my car. One day I am going to upgrade for the dogs :) |
I always take mine on vacation so I rent a car for vacation time. |
Harness seat belt I have 3 dogs and when we travel we use the harness seat belt. It attaches to their Buddy Belt then to the seat belt clip, just like a seat belt. This gives them room in the back seat to move around yet I know they are secure in case something happens. We travel quite a bit for long distances and this works great. |
