need to bring a pup from PA to CA I found a puppy that I like, and ready to buy her,but one problem... Puppy in PA,Lebanon, and I'm in Sacramento,CA. I know that many breeders has a special curriers who would fly with puppy and deliver it to my house.But my breeder doesn't have such person. Any idea where I can find a currier? I found online a couple of companies that provide such service,but their not deliver from east to west:( |
I am not sure if they fly to your area, but Continental seems to have the best reputation for transporting by air. May be a help to you. |
Not sure the price in the continental US but for what it would have cost a Currier to fly my one 5lb Rosie from the states to the UK I could have flown round trip more than 4 times myself. I wonder if it would be cheaper and safer for that matter for you to just fly there yourself and collect the pup? With that you can fly the baby home in cabin as well instead in cargo. |
I would say it would cost more to fly there and pick up your pup because usually couriers have connections with airlines and can get discounted airfare. It costed me $300 to have Nilla flown here. I would assume a round trip ticket from California to Pennsylvania would cost much more than $300. Our courier was from Chicago I believe and they flew American Airlines. I do not really know how you find a courier, as the one that my breeder used was someone she knew and used, but I wish you luck in your endeavors! |
I'm so glad you found your puppy and I hope she's "the one", the courier is expensive but there are some travel "deals" coming up due to the time of year so maybe you might be able to get something good. Besides if you pick up your baby you will get to meet your breeder ALWAYS a biggy, and during your travel you will bond with your baby. Also a biggy. I traveled USAir, nice people, good stews, good service, though I don't know about the prices now, I traveled earlier in the year. Sorry. Only one thing I would bring up PLEASE, PLEASE DON'T SHIP, I have heard such horror stories, they would break your heart. And most airlines really do try to help the animals, but they are cargo, and it's getting cold in PA. It's sad. Good luck any way. |
There is also PetAire. The dogs fly inside the plane and they provide a very good service. |
I just priced it from LAX , on southwest it wold be about $320 round trip plus $75 for the pet fee on the way back. I love flying, and If you lived in LA I'd offer to do it for you :P Why don't you just fly in and pick him up yourself? |
I just got my puppy and travel a lot. I like traveling Jetblue so I called them on how it works for pets to fly. They have two options. One is to crate your pup and the other is to have them fly with you in a air craft safty carrier for a small fee. I also looked into all the air lines, just call them directly and ask for the info jet blue is a $100.00 to fly small dogs. |

I unzipped Tashi's carrier slightly and stuck my hand in to pet her while people were still being seated, because I wanted to soothe her as i thought the noise might scare her a bit. One of the Virgin flight attendants snapped at me and told me i'd better not even touch the carrier for the rest of the flight. Southwest and JetBlue have always been really nice to me though. |
