Front Carrier for Yorkies I'm looking at a front carrier for Razzle; believe it is made by outward or outbound hound. It straps around the front of your body, and you put your doggie in it. Has anyone used this style? Any good/bad experience with it? We are going on vacation in three weeks, and we like to hike, I'm just a little concerned that Razz could get tired or if we get into difficult terrain, it might be a little much for him. I usually hike with a backpack as well, to carry our food, water, and first aid kit, and I wonder if I can use both? I am going shopping today to Ren's Pet Depot and will bring my backpack to test out this theory. One question is how secure is the dog in the carrier? Like if I have to bend forward? |
I have one and I've used it on vacation for Sadie. I don't use it much now though - two won't fit. :D We've carried Sadie all over New Orleans and Nashville in it. Between all the people and the dirty streets I didn't feel like having her walk. She really liked the security of it. You should have seen her on Bourbon Street!! |
I have one, but my teapot outgrew it before I ever got to use it! |
Ziva doesn't like the front pack but she loves the sling, She lands up in a ball in the pack but stretches out in the sling... |

We are going to the beach the week of my birthday, from Sept 3 to 10th and a sling would work out great. Does anyone know of other brands out there I should look at? |

Google Outward Hound Pet Sling. It looks like they have 2 different styles. One has a more structured bottom and the other one looks more like a pouch bag. I have the black one that is more of a pouch bag. Boop really likes sitting in it. I was amazed that she liked it! Whatever you decide, I wouldn't get black because it is hot. I have to admit, though, that 5-1/2 pounds of Boop gets heavy on the shoulder after a short while. |
