Niagara Falls It looks really un-dog friendly. Are they allowed to do anything on the US side besides walk the paths? No buildings (even restrooms) whatsoever? It says no even for small dogs. |
We were just there on the Canadian side. It wasn't completely unfriendly, but you are right, just walking the trails unless you can find an outdoor restaurant. |
i tried to plan a trip there, but i couldn't find nice dog friendly hotels or activities. to me it seems like a non dog friendly city. |
We went to NF 4 yrs ago and took Toby our schnauzer mix. We stayed at a pet-friendly hotel on the Canadian side, just up the hill from the falls...I think it was a Best Western maybe? I took him on lots of walks...but no not in any restaurants or stores. He actually got out of his collar and got away from me right at the falls! It terrified me...but surprisingly he did come back to me (which he rarely would do!) |
many are pet friendly at Niagara on the Lake and it is nice there too:) maybe 10 15 minutes from the Falls on the Canadian side ... as for the collar coming off...thi shas worked here is instead of running after the dog..run away he will more than likely chase u..it happened to a friend that was babysitting a dog and it worked :) but we use a harness it is more secure than collars and it goes around the body rather than the neck ...also avoids choking..:animal-pa |
the canadian side is VERY pet friendly!!! we took mickey all over niagara (the cdn side) no one said anything! but you can't take the dog into the resturant (obviously :P) unless if its summer and outdoor/patio type |
