Dewey Beach Who's been to Dewey Beach with dogs? What is there to do (besides mornings and evenings on the beach???) |
Absolutely nothing! :p Dewey Beach is VERY small. You can take your dogs to downtown Rehoboth and walk around with them. A couple of restaurants allow them on their outdoor patios. There is a dog store on Rehoboth Avenue. |

After a couple of hours on the beach with them, it's nice to leave them and go out to dinner and shopping in Rehoboth. Another thing- Be careful of bigger dogs on the beach. Leashes aren't mandatory and some people don't know how to control their dogs.  |
I was on Dewey Beach a few weekends ago...and I was happy I didn't have my Bella with us. There was a dog w/o a leash...growling and pouncing on EVERY dog that walked by it. It was a dangerous situation and the owners thought it was just funny. So my boyfriend went and told the lifeguards and they did NOTHING. I saw 3 yorkies walking along the side of the water and went up and said hello to the owners and the furbabies...The woman told me she regretted bringing them because they found some kind of sand flea on them, so thats why they were walking besides the water and not in the sand. I LOVE Dewey Beach; but I really don't recommend it for our furbabies. Too many HUGE dogs; not on leashes. And not enough places to take them. |
unruly dogs off leash are my pet peeve. it ruins it for the little guys. |
