Coming to America!!!!!!!!!Very Excited! Ok...we want to come to USA this Christmas. Can someone tell me about a nice place, or which part of the USA to go to??? Thanks Maria |
There are lots of places I would recommend - but it would help to know if you would prefer warmer weather for outdoor activities, or just nice scenery. |
That is exciting....depending on what you want to do...and what kind of climate you want...(if it were me I would head for warmer climates....like Florida or California) |
It really depends on where you want to go...we have a few friends in France, and they always want to go to New York & Disney. You could also try hitting a few bigger cities-NYC, LA, and Chicago, for example and do the touristy stuff there. Or maybe it would be fun to go to the Grand Canyon or Colorado to go skiing if you're the outdoorsy type. And, there's always Las Vegas if you want to see some shows and/or gamble! |
If you want warm I think Florida is the best bet for good weather. If weather isn't a factor it's wide open, New York, Chicago, Las Vegas LA for big city experiences and so many other beautiful places. |
If coming to Florida, let me know! |
Well, I want warm weather as I am not very good in cold places!!! LOL Don't want to try Disney yet untill Alex is about 2 years old so he can enjoy it. But I would love soe outdoor activities and also shows. I am not into gambling tho' Thanks everyone |
You could come to Mississippi! There's TONS to d....wait..wait..no there's nothing to do... Oh well  LOL! :p |

If you want warm don't come to Washington State, cold and rain rain rain rain rain LOL! It's been raining all bloody week non-stop:thumbup: If I had a choice I'd go to Hawaii (never been there). Otherwise probably California or Florida. I guess you need to figure out which coast you want to go to and if you want to do touristy stuff or just relax and get away. Whatever you decide WELCOME and have a wonderful time!:) |

Go to Arizona and see the grand canyon, and check out New Mexico. They are two of my favorite places. |

OOO OOO! Hawaii would be my choice too! |
I don't know where you can go in December that isn't cold and wet unless it's in central CA. or some parts of AZ. Tough call for sure. If you could come in Sept. or Oct., it's beautiful here in CA. :D |
I would say the southern states are warmer, so Southern California, Florida is nice, even in winter time:) Yes, the Grand Canyon in Arizona is great! My sister used to live there when she was in medical school and we drove to the grand canyon, absolutely breath taking!! Here in California, you can always visit San Francisco, close to where I live! Have fun and keep us updated:) I have family in Manchester, England, just haven't had a chance to visit them yet:) |
Come to California!!! You will LOVE it here! Although, it's hard to beat Hawaii. Yea, I'd opt for Hawaii if you are choosing between the two.:) |
Florida would be a great place. There are homes that are rented by the week (most with pools) that you can get. I think there are some YT'ers that have rented homes like this. (I personally haven't). I also think that yorkies are welcome in some of them. It would be a nice option if you have a small toddler. |
Hi Maria! Great news! I am a New Yorker and of course, I recommend New York City! Great shopping, dining, Broadway shows, museums, etc. etc, etc, Christmas time in New York is super and it is conveniently just across the pond from your home! Have a wonderful time wherever you decide to go! Marilyn |
If you like warm weather I would recommend San Deigo Zoo and LA. Chicago, New York, and D.C. have great places to see, but it's usually cold up there. You might want to look what Atlanta has. A few attractions I know of there are the coke factory, CNN Studio, and Stone Mountain (not really in Atlanta but pretty close). I'm sure they have other great places. OMG if you didn't hate the cold I would really recommend NYC. I always wanted to visit there during XMas. The xmas tree, skating in the plaza, shopping, broadway shows, sigh. How could you not want that? |
My parents live in Sarasota, Florida absolutely gorgeous! (maybe we can do a home swap ;) - they have 4 bdrms, a pool and are 5 miles from one of the top 10 beaches in the world) The Gulf coast of Florida is beautiful. Sands of Sarasota - Sarasota Beaches Siesta Key is always top rated HeraldTribune.com - News - News stories about Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte counties in Florida, from the newspapers of record. - HeraldTribune.com |
You would love San Francisco, it has been voted the prettiest city in America many different times!! There is alot to do, many different cultures and wonderful food. You can drive up to Napa and Sonoma to tour the wine country, drive down to Monterey and Carmel where you can whale watch and bring your Booboo with you. Carmel is so dog friendly, they allow dogs in most hotels, on the beach and in a lot of restaurants. While your in SF you can come visit Brooke and I and we can show you around!! By the way, I have a big boy yorkie named Booboo!! |
Monterey, CA. Last year we had a pretty warm christmas. It's a high tourist area in the summer, but not so much in the winter. So, it's more enjoyable in the winter time. The beach is absolutely gorgeous there. It is really close to Big Sur, which is beautiful, and you could do some hiking. It's about a 2hr drive to San Fransisco so you could easily make a day trip there. Santa Cruz is about 40 minutes away. I LOVE Monterey, I hope to move back there when I'm done with school. |
Hey why don't you organise a house swap holiday??? That would save money, and be great fun. |
you must come to NYC!!:) |
Come on to Texas!! We would love to have you visit here!! :D |
New York is amazing at Christmas, but cold!! If you want warm, go south!! I know here in Texas it's not usually TOOOOO cold in December |
you should come to Chicago... it's NEVER cold here:rolleyes::p ha! Wherever you decide.. have a great time and of course, let us know |
Come to New Jersey and visit me!! :D Or NYC - its beautiful at Christmas - its cold, but I think its sooo worth it to walk around and see all the lights and whatnot. and you could catch some shows or whatever. If you really don't want cold, then go to So. California. :) |
