Test for trying to figure out what's wrong. We had a problem with Yorkietalk's server and my account was messed up. I'm using this thread to try to figure out something. |

See if this works. |
Curious as what you're doing? |
2 Attachment(s) Hi, I just say your reply on my other thread, so I think the problem is solved. I was going to make "pictures" of the light blue pad, so that others could see what the heck I meant. I can get the white pad to come back only if I post something and "edit" it in the first 5 minutes, so I was using these posts for more of the editing feature. I also wanted to see what type of fonts I could use. Here's the pictures I made using this thread, but now I don't have to post a new thread about it because you already have answered my question. It was driving me nuts. Thanks so much! |

The basic one is just text editing and doesn't have the helpful buttons and the standard has the formatting control buttons. Unless you know the codes then the basic one would be a PITA to use. The standard will show the BB code for all the editing you've done whereas the WYSIWYG editor is just as it is, What You See Is What You Get, so everything is displayed exactly how it will post. That's weird that it doesn't go back to the enhanced one. I typed that it did and then had to go back and edit just to be sure that it did actually do it and it worked for me. (I'm trying so hard not to sound like a forum nerd here btw!) |

Ok, it's actually good that it doesn't go back to enhanced because in a way the simple editor allows you to make some changes that you can't do in advanced. By the way, I was wondering if you thought that others can see the different font I've used. I can type something in word processing and paste it in the enhanced version, and it stays the same for the most part. Now, I'm wondering if people can see the differerent fonts. I mean I think I read once that if they don't have a particular font on their computer they can't see it. I wrote one of the above writings in "bloody" font which as you know isn't one of YT fonts. Now, I wondering if others can see it, or if it just goes back to a default font? I want to learn what all the enhanced feature will do. |

LOL, all your questions are showing my nerdiness here, I hope no one reads this thread! Yeah it's handy to tweak with the standard editor, normally when I lay photos into the post instead of as a thumbnail at the bottom I have to use the standard so I just make my post with just the 3 letter minimum and then go back and edit. The "bloody" font didn't show for me but then I don't have that font pack installed on my laptop and I have ALOT of fonts cuz I do digital scrapbooking. I've seen posts where the poster has copied and pasted from say an email or a site and there has been a font has isn't a YT option but it's displayed there on the post. So I imagine if it's already a pre-installed font on the viewers pc/laptop then they would be able to see it but not if it's not installed for them. Hope that makes sense. |

I have a lot of different fonts, but I have no idea which ones are standard, I use to download lots of different kinds. I just thought it would be fun to use something other than the standards, but if very few can see it anyway, it would be a waste. |

Lol, that's so funny, I think when I originally pasted it from MS word, it showed up large, but when I posted it, it was really small, so I had to edit it to get it the size I wanted. That's when the editor may have done wierd things, cause I changed the size several times. Well, I guess I won't be using fancy font. |

You can use the IMG code, which stands for image code, to past the picture directly on someone's profile page. |
Thanks Nancy. I tried downloading the program that reduces the photo size to a thumbnail, but obviously I did not post it right or a picture would have shown up instead of a link! I am so worn out from the profile page tinkering (could not let it go until 5:00 am! And then woke up at 10:00 and got right back to it! And I should be working!); but I will test another attempt later. Stand by for assistance! really, you are so helpful. Thanks again! |

If you want a picture to show up as a picture in threads, you have to upload it to that thread. To do this, you look under message board where it says "Manage attachments" and click on that and upload a picture from your computer. Of course, you want to make sure it's not too big a picture or YT won't accept it. |
