I tried to copy your avatar and it says that it's not a valid file. When you save the gif in the photoscape program, make sure it says "gif" as the file name. It automatically does this but some people change the name. The last three letters should be like this: .gif

Oh, I understand totally! I really kind of should have known that you had to do the editing to it first and then save it; which is why, when I couldn't find the 'editor" that would work on that first page, I eventually figured out that I had to go to the main page for the editor. I was just hoping things would be simpler, LOL.

And I have to say, that honestly, without your concise and clear instructions, I don't think I would have figured it out on my own~ it's not so complicated once you know how to do it, but there is DEFINTELY a learning curve, LOL! :D

Maybe you could write some instructions for editing the pictures. :D

You crazy girl, LOL! If you're serious, maybe I could sit down later today and play with it and get it all organized. Maybe I'll PM it to you first b/c I'm REALLY new at this stuff; I started out just doing stuff at onetruemedia and cropping photos on some other programs so I've kind of learned some of the lingo, but I've got a LONG ways to go and I also think that there's probably an easier way to do some things (like adding the text and cute little thingys into the photos) than the way I've been doing them.

On another note, could someone explain how to do the cute graphics that people are putting in their messages on the profile pages? I tried doing it once by copying the URL and then pasting it, but it keeps coming up with just the url address in the post instead of any photo. Some of them have been edited (obviously) to put their dog in it or just cute sayings; are they doing that, saving it to their computer and then using the url for their computer to do that? Anyhow, my main issue is the url posting as just exactly what I copied...I see that it happened to a couple of other people who posted on my page, but then they figured it out, LOL and the next time they posted, it was the picture. I'm sooooo confused!

Yes, I'm serious, sometimes people new to it can describe it in a way that makes sense to others that are new to it. This isn't my primary animation program, I use Paint Shop Pro, so I don't even know all the tricks this program will do. This thread was meant so others could help "do it yourselfers." If there is an easier way to do the things than you are doing, someone will let you know. I tried adding frames to a picture, and I wanted 2 frames, but it wouldn't let me do that, but if you save the picture, open another folder, and then reopen the folder with the saved picture, it let you add another frame. Sometimes this is useful, if you want the frame to look thicker, or just adding different frames together. But I don't know if I've written that in a way that anyone can understand.

For example the first picture has a margin and two frames, and the second picture has 3 frames, margins and borders, and lettering. The third picture uses margins bordering and one frame. What I'm trying to say is you can change the way the frame looks by manipulating the border and margins.

Nikkinak's right, instead of going to the part that says AniGif, go to the part that says "Editor" not "Batch Editor" that's for something different. After you go to editor, add a picture, and add frames and borders to it, and then press "save as" and make a new name for the framed picture. After you get the pictues framed and bordered the way you like, go to the AniGif part, and open them there to creat the gif. In "Batch Editor" you might be able to do all the pictures at one time, but I haven't learned how to frame them using this yet, it's easier if you choose "Editor."

Also there is a "text tool" Editor. Go to "Object" on the bottom left, and pick either the "T" or what looks like a double "T" they both do lettering, I don't know all the differences yet. if you don't like something you've done, just use the "undo" comand that is on the bottom left. Play with it, and show us what it can do.

I was doing that but it wouldnt put the boarder in. I think I finally got it now. Still not exactly what I wanted, I'll dink with it more later. lol Thank you for this info.!!!!

Hey~ That's very cool the way you did that! I don't think I would have figured that out, LOL..I was looking for a thicker frame, but putting more than one on a single photo is a great idea!!!

Thanks for making this so simple. (lol, of course I haven't tried it yet, but it seems that you've explained it so well).

Animated avi's have remained a mystery to me and that's been one of life's minor annoyances...perhaps your tutorial will change that. :D
