Won't Poop in the Snow Do I have to start from the beginning with housebreaking my Yorkies? They will not poop in the snow. How can I encourage Angel and Glory to poop outside in the snow? |
Uh oh! Hope you didn't get too much snow this weekend. Is there anywhere you can go near that has concrete or cement that's covered by some sort of roof? We've yet to come across that problem, as we have a little patio area that is covered a bit even when it did snow here last year. |
You might need to shovel off a little area so that your little one can sniff some ground without too much snow on it. It's possible he can't find a scent or just feels it's too darn cold to possibly set his little bottom down on that snow. I wouldn't want to poop in the snow either. :p If he isn't used to potty pads maybe allow him to go in your garage or a patio area with papers down or something. Hang in there, spring is coming!! :) |
Sorry to hear your yorkies won't poop in the snow! I'm in Maryland, we got snow yesterday, and some Wednesday too. Our problem with the snow is that Hercules loves to pee in it. I'm sure that doesn't sound like a problem, until you hear our situation. We live on the third floor of an apartment, so instead of having to run up and down the stairs all the time during potty training, we built a little box and put a pee pad in it and put it on our balcony. So when he pees in the snow, he is peeing on our balcony, which is not a good thing! What a little sun of a gun! Oh well, hopefully the snow will melt soon and he'll go back into his box to pee.
