I'm taking it slow and will for awhile. I start rehab in a week so I'm sure I will go to bed when I get home. Lots of Doctors to make appointments with. One other great think is I had no reactions to all the new medicine. Hey, I'm a tough one and they said brave because they could not knock me out for the for the Cardiac Catheterization,sp?? the actual repair work was not near as involved as the CC Thank you all for your prayers as I think they are working for me as well. You guys are the best. My daughter is reminding me I said five minutes so I had better take a rest. I will be on soon and thank you each and every one of you. (((hugs Joan)) Crystalsmom I hope Janie is coming along well, I will check tomorrow evening. |

I was going to tell you this, but it is not from first hand experience coming from me!! Great to get it from one that has been there!!! Having been a cardiovascular nurse for 30 years, I can assure you once you are on the other side of this event, you will be like new!! Hang in there and remember to set your jaw and COUGH! COUGH! COUGH! DEEP BREATHE!! DEEP BREATHE!! This will do more for your rapid recovery than anything! Use that little breathing machine and move that little ball! Turn, turn, turn in that bed....walk, walk, walk!!! Before you know it, you will be home and good for another 500,000 miles!!! |
Just now reading this. So sorry to hear. I hope you heal quickly and are good as new in no time! |
Happy to see you are home, keeping you in my prayers for a full speedy recovery. |

Happy your home and doing okay. Just don't over due |
Joan, I can't believe you are home and back online!!! Amazing work by your heart team! Thank God you had the best and got to them in time. I'm so glad you are going to be with us still - we could have LOST you!!!!!!! Scared me silly to read this thread and that you were having such scary surgery! I've been sending prayers heavenward and thinking of you so much. You take care and don't hesitate to get online when you need back-up or support. Love, Jeanie |
i am so relieved to read this and so grateful you are home. Please take care of yourself and know how much I care. I hope each day you feel stronger and better. |
Most of you know that I am 83, you may not know how tough I am and I am going to make it. This morning I feel like my old self and yet I won't let that wonderful feeling push me beyond my limits. I always walk a mile every morning but of of course not when it is too cold or extreme heat like we have had here. I walked a little in our hallway this morning and it felt good. In rehab they will teach me how to make my heart stronger. Again thank you for your thoughts and concern. |
Also I have always read labels to check ingredients so I will continue to do that however I will eliminate sodium completely and cook for myself. My Daughter has a hot noon meal sent to me everyday and it is called 'cardiac meal' with 12% sodium?? She cancelled it and she and I are going to cook here. I don't live with her but almost lately. lol |
It sounds like you are on the path to a full recovery! Attitude and effort is what it is all about and you have both covered. |

A strong and positive attitude is a given, I can only pray I reach 83 and have the strong positive attitude you have. You can and will get back to where you were. Keeping you in my prayers for a speedy full recovery. |
