Just Saying Hi I'm not even sure I even belong on this board anymore as I don't have a yorkie anymore. As most know I lost Troy about a month ago. I didn't realize I was still grieving and wasn't ready for another dog just yet until 1am this morning. Someone asked me to take over the care/ownership of a larger breed dog. I was surely up for the task but after feeling in my gut it wasn't right, I'm making the decision to say that they try to find another home. It's not a popular decision by any means, because I wanted to and even committed to helping the family out and even told my daughter that we would have another dog in a few days. But the idea to take on rehome with out much history on the animal so fast, seems like it will be unfair to all involved. |

Of course you still belong. You know what's best for you on this dog. Myself I find I am a much happier person with a dog around. Then without one. |
you belong yorkie or not. you have to make the decision that is best for you. but i would say could give it a trail run without full commitment to see how things would mesh and how you feel after having the dog a couple of days or a week?? |
Oh Rachael, you are always a part of this community, Sweetie. I think about you often. I'm so happy to actually see a post from you. Look, bottom line is that you wouldn't do that dog any good if you are not ready for it. You need this time to grieve and let the pain ease. You will always have that hole in your heart for Troy. No dog will ever replace him. But, when the time is right, you will know and you will find the right pup to help you move forward. It will amaze you that when you DO get to that place, the new pup just makes your heart grow and makes its own spot in there. The place where Troy is will always be there and that hole..it will always be there..but it will shrink and fill up with loving memories. I promise. Hugs! I'm here if you ever need to talk. Please know that you are family to us and you can continue to be a member of this forum...dog or no dog..yorkie or no yorkie. We love you. |
