Thanks so much. She started on prednisone today and her left knee pain is a little better. Not sure if the steroids have helped yet or not. Tomorrow she goes in to get her right knee drained. That should make walking a little easier. We both appreciate the prayers and good thoughts. |
Praying she gets some relief... |
It breaks my heart that Jessica is having such a hard and painful time. I feel so bad...she's so young and should be able to do the things that other young people can do. I know how this hurts you and that you feel so helpless, but you are helping her in any way you can and she know that. She is blessed to have you for her Mom. Prayers for Jessica and for you! *HUG* |
I am praying for your daughter. So young to be burdened with such a painful disease. Please keep us posted! |
So sorry Jessica is having a rough time, and I pray that things will get better for her. I can't even imagine living with RA, and am sorry she is faced with this. |
Thanks for the prayers. The steroids are helping (short term solution) and she had 100 cc's of fluid drained off her right knee today. Hopefully by tomorrow she will be able to walk a little better. Her orthopedist told her her rheumatologist needs to get her RA under control. He said she can't keep getting her knee drained as the risk for infection is high. But she has been on 4 different medicines and nothing is working. We are praying the Orencia will be the ONE. She has been on it 2 weeks but it can take 2 months to become effective. I appreciate your continued prayers. |
Wow! 100cc's... that's a lot!! Hoping and praying the new drug works! |
Praying for your daughter. I am sorry she is going through this. |
Thanks. Jessica is having the lining removed from her right knee tomorrow to try and stop the fluid from building up. She had it done on the left knee last September and it helped. It will still swell and get painful but fluid doesn't build up. I do worry since right after she had the left one operated on the fluid stated filling up in the right knee. I'm afraid it will just go somewhere else. She had to come off all her medicines except a low dose of prednisone for surgery. She is hurting all over. Please keep the prayers going for a safe and successful procedure. Thanks. |
Sending prayers and gentle hugs. |
Prayers and healing hopes for your daughter... |
so sorry to read about your daughter, one of my close friends has this and I know how awful it is for her. My heart goes out to Jessica and you for having to watch her hurt so bad. Prayers are being said so that they will find a treatment that will work for her. |
I have a friend who has RA and I have seen what she has had to deal with. I will definitely pray for your daughter, that she finds relief from pain very soon!! RA is a terrible disease. |
Thanks everyone! Jessica's surgery went well. She is staying with me for a few days to recuperate. We won't know for awhile if it has helped. Once she can go back on all her RA meds we will know better if it has helped. |
Prayers for Jessica and You Patti I am so sorry Jessica is going through all that she is, praying she will get total release from the RA and that a cure is ahead for her. I wish more was done in research to help better with RA and other debilitating diseases, I really feel in my heart more research can be done to successfully help all those suffering. Patti I continually lift you in my prayers that God comfort your heart as time goes by, I feel so much for what you are going through and know how difficult each day is. I know Ken is helping to watch over you, may your heart feel all the blessings in life that God brought unto you, and be of comfort. You are a wonderful friend I wish we lived closer :) I promise I wouldn't be a nuisance :) but I might be like Trixie with those storms you all get :( I have gotten use to rolling with the shakes  we get, knock on wood none lately. Love and Hugs to you and Jessica |
