Need some healing prayers for me! I pulled a muscle in my back Thursday trying to rid my yard of a Poison Ivy patch I had found. It's flowering now but hopefully I'll recover before it can turn loose any seeds! This is so painful and has made it almost impossible for me to even get around. I'd appreciate any help from our Prayer Warriors to speed this healing along. Thanks in advance, and God Bless you all! Kathy |
I did this back in feb. hurt for a month. I got a stretchy elastic wrap and wore this for weeks. It really helped the pain. Good luck with your healing. |
So sorry to hear about your back. I think every time I do yard work, my back let's me know about it. Maybe just an age thing. I pray your back will be better soon, before your poison ivy takes over. Good excuse for relaxing with your pups. They won't mind at all! |
Praying for healing. Also be sure and use an anti inflammatory like motrin or naproxen, ice to the sore area and if you can get some, muscle relaxers would be helpful. Hope you feel better soon. Oh yeah, if you are prone to rash up with poison ivy, get some Zanfel. (Poison Ivy Treatment - Zanfel Poison Ivy Wash Frequently Asked Questions - Zanfel Laboratories) It is expensive, but it will stop the rash, stop the itch and stop it from spreading. My hubby uses it when exposed. |
Sending prayers your way! I hope you feel better really soon!! |
Praying for God's healing hand to make your back whole again. Ouch!!! Take care of yourself, Kathy! |
Oh no sending prayers. Hope you feel better very soon |
Feel better, Kathy. I'm so sorry you are in so much pain. |
Kathy I am so sorry you are hurting. Please heat the area up to 20 mins 3 times a day. It will help the muscles. Sending lots of good thoughts that you will be feeling better soon. |
I'm sorry you are hurting. Praying for a speedy recovery. |
Praying for a quick recovery. |
Sending prayers for quick healing. I did the same thing last summer. Chiropractor helped me tremendously. Hope you feel better soon. Nothing worse than back pain!! |
Sorry your hurting. Prayers for a speedy recovery. Back injuries can really be tough to get over. |
Kathy, sending healing prayers upward in your behalf. Back aches are the worst! Sure hope you are better soon to continue with the poison ivy war. |
oh gosh sending many healing prayers!! i hope you get well soon....you can use a mixture of bleach and used paint thinner? (i can double check if you prefer to go this route) to rid the yard of poison ivy. my dh did in a section where we had it really bad it it died right off and never came back. |
Wow! Thank you all so much.... The day after I posted asking for your prayers I felt at least 80% better! When I posted I had lost all hope of being able to do anything for a couple of months... it was really that bad. And that comes from experience, having had back injuries and surgery before. Got to be that YT Prayers are the best! Thank you so very much! |
Just seeing this, so glad you're feeling better! Yes, the power of prayer. |
Yikes. I am so sorry Kathy. That stuff can really do a number on you. Call someone and let them do it for you....don't go back out there again to deal with it. I have heard that each exposure is worse. Prayers that you heal quickly. |
I'm sorry about your back, but glad to hear it is better. |
So glad to hear you are better, Kathy! I have some healthy poison ivy bushes in my yard. I've heard you can put some Round Up on a cotton ball and touch just one leaf and it will kill the bush. I've never tried it, though. |
sending a healing prayer for you! |
Ouch...prayers for a quick recovery. |
Thank you all... My back is doing great, Lol, but now I have a kink in my hip! Probably from walking weird while my back was hurting! I just want this all to go away! Going to get some Round-up from my neighbor... I'll let you know if it works! That would be sweet! |

Just seeing this and it sounds like you've had a tough few days! You know what they say - keep moving with a bad back!!!:eek::eek: Sorry about the hip but you are probably right & it is from altering your gait w/back! Poor thing! |
Ouch! I think I would prefer a sore back to hip problems! Listen to your body, and hopefully you'll be back to 100% soon. |
