Gosh, I hope you're home by now! |
Ugh still here waiting to get discharged. The blood, urine, and ultra sound was normal. Big waste of time, he didn't even give me pain meds. He did say I had the most normal ultrasound he has ever seen! He suspects a small inguinal hernia ( that's what Sophia had!!) and told me to follow up with my PCP |

Apparently I'm getting a hydrocodone prescription but the doctor didn't tell me! He told me to take advil! |
I hope your pain goes away soon. |

Just want to update. I'm at my PCP now. She thinks it's an inguinal hernia and she's tryig to fit me in with the hernia specialist today. |
Sarah: My dh had surgery for a hernia repair 6 days ago. It had been bothering him since March and I had been telling him to go the doctor, but he wouldn't listen until the pain got really bad. The surgery was about an hour, done on an outpatient basis, and let me tell you the change in him was dramatic. He felt better immediately, and never asked for anything for pain after he got out of the recovery unit. Get it fixed ASAP, you'll be feeling much better the sooner you get it done. |
I hope you feel better:( |
Saw the hernia specialist, he doesn't think it's an inguinal hernia. He suggested maybe a spigelian hernia, but it's not likely. He said it may be a mass on my abdomen, but he's not sure. I am getting a CT scan at 3:30 and we should have a better plan of action tomorrow. He did suggest if the CT scan doesn't show anything, that the next step is exploratory surgery  |
Oh geez! Sometimes I don't have much faith in some of the diagnostic methods... most of mine have been wrong or haven't shown the full extent of the problems, lol. Exploratory Sx may be your best bet as they'll have to go in to fix whatever it is anyway! But Best wishes and good luck! I do hope you start feeling better soon! |
Sarah, I am sorry you have to go through this. Praying for good news from the CT and that you won't have to through exploratory surgery. |
How are you feeling today, Sarah? Have you gotten news of your ct scan yet? I hope you got something to ease your pain, and will soon get some answers to ease your mind. I'm praying for you! I'll be keeping you and your bf and pups in my prayers. |
Sarah...just now reading all of your updates. I hope they figure out what it is and you can get it taken care of soon. Having that kind of pain for days is not fun:( |
Just reading this now...sorry your going through this. Hope you feel better soon. |
Certainly keeping you in prayers and positive thoughts....hopefully, they can get a diagnosis without having to do surgery....perhaps they would consider an MRI before they do an exploratory lap. Hoping you are not still in the pain you were in.....take care and I will continue to send up prayers for you!! |
Sorry, I meant to update this sooner but I've been on a lot of meds & haven't really felt like myself. Basically, the CT scan was normal. So we're not sure what's wrong. He wants me to follow up in 2 weeks to figure out a plan. |
Very happy to hear the CT was normal. Praying that your pain disappears as mysteriously as it came on so that you won't have to do anything. |
Do you have endometriosis or anything like that? Undiagnosed endomet. can be very very painful and hard to diagnose sometimes. CT doesn't usually find it. I had it go unDx'd for years - even during an open explor. lap and wasn't until hysterectomy it was finally diagnosed. And stopped, of course. |

Carmen, thanks for updating. I'm finally starting to get back to my normal self! I've missed stalking YT!! I took my last steroid pill today :woohoo: & my pain has gone SIGNIFICANTLY down, to the point where I only need advil occasionally. I'm supposed to call tomorrow to schedule my follow up for sometime this week or next week. I suspect it'll be all good news, since I've been feeling great. & I'm over my allergic reaction, no more itchy red bumps! All of those prayers have been working, so thank you so much! |
