Please send some prayers for my Dad. 1 Attachment(s) Just to give some background my Dad is one of the hardest working men I know. He's been working for the family business since he graduated college at 22. Many times his paycheck was at poverty level (due to shifty family relations) and many times as kids, my brother and I rarely saw my Dad because he would be pulling a 60+ hour work week. Well in 2009 we lost the family business. That means my Dad, Mom, and brother lost their jobs. We decided to liquidate the store so that our vendors were paid off instaed of filing bankrupt, and leaving them hanging. Anyway, my Dad has had to start over at the age of 55. He's competing with 30 year olds for jobs who, let's face it, will work for half the price despite half the experience and are replacable. He's been really depressed lately, and I know the current job he has (as a manager and is lifting and doing way too much grunt work) is taking a toll on his 6'7 body. So if you could please just say some prayers that God leads him down the path that he's supposed to go, I'd apprecaite it. I've always been a Daddy's girl and it breaks my heart to see him so down. |
OH, girl, sending prayers for your family... hugs, |
Best wishes to your Dad he sounds like a stand up guy with a lot of integrity. Sending prayers of support and I hope he finds a job that is both financially and emotionally rewarding. |
I'm sorry to hear that. It's really hard to lose everything, we've been there, but we're young still. To have to start all over again at that age must be really devastating. I'm hoping everything works out for the better. He's such a hard worker, he deserves the stability he should be getting by now. :( |
Your Dad sounds like a great father and person. I will pray he finds a good job soon. |
Girl, your dad is a strong man to endure all that. And many people would have filed bankrupt and left it at that. So, he did the right thing and will be rewarded in the end. Sometimes it seems that we have to go down the rocky road before we get the blessing. But when the blessing comes it is huge. Keep your faith as God can make anything happen. I am a daddy's girl myself so I understand your feelings completely. I will make sure to add him to my prayers! Hugs to you! |
Thanks ladies. It's so hard sometimes to keep faith. I know they say things come in threes but it seems to be in twenty-threes. And I'd do anything for my parents. Last year at this time, despite losing the business and almost their house, my Mom and Dad gave my husband and I a wonderful wedding. I know God doesn't give us strife that we cannot endure, but I pray that their strife takes a little bit of a break, or gets lost on a turnpike somewhere. |
Taryn I just cannot imagine how your father is feeling. He is not that much older than my husband and I just know how he would feel if we lost everything at this point in our live only to try to start over. I hope the new year brings much needed change for him and your family. to you my friend... |
Just a little update- Thanks ladies for all your prayers and thoughts. However, I received a call today that my Dad was let go. So now he's starting from the ground up competing against people half his age. I consider myself a religious person, but right now I really feel like God has abandoned my family. Excuse my vent. |
I know it's so hard to stay positive when things like this happen. I do believe in the power of prayer and that these bad things happen for a reason. Praying for your dad to get the much needed break that he deserves. |
No no no, have faith, trust in God.... Your family has not been forgotten, it may feel that way but God has you in the palm of His hand. It is when you are in the valley, when it is SO hard to see over the mountains, that you must trust and have faith in God. I will pray for you to have faith, it isn't easy....but it is at moments like these that God works in our lives - your Dad must be a man of great honor and integrity....I feel certain God has wonderful plans for your sweet family. May God bless and carry you all thru this- |
You are such a good daughter. Praying for your Dad and your family that things will move in a positive direction. Sending hugs. |
I am sorry he is encountering so many obstacles and setbacks. I hope that the reason this job went away was to open the door for a new and better opportunity for your Dad. Sending prayers for a better future for your Dad and Mom. |
I'm so sorry for all you're going through. I'm a fellow daddy's girl, and I understand your situation completely. We're watching as my dad's job slips away slowly. I'm hoping to have a better job with better income soon. This way, when the boss finally tells him they no longer require my dad's services, I can take over and pay the bills. It's really tought out there for ANYONE to find a job. |
Taryn I am so sorry. Just remember that God always has a plan. And everything is in his time not ours. I know it is hard to keep faith. I have been there. But trust in him. |
Hang in there. I understand how you feel, my life has not been easy the past few years but I am still hanging on. The power of prayer does wonders, just try to be there for you dad, and stay strong!! |
I'm so sorry your dad is going through this, and I know you are going through it too, if nothing else, you are definitely going through it emotionally. Your family will definitely be in my prayers. |
I know how hard this is. Sending prayers and positive thoughts for you and your family. |
I'm so sorry your dad is going through such a rough time. He's definitely a man of strong character. I will keep him in my prayers that he will find the path that will make him happy again. |
Just thinking of you dad. I hope February is a great month for him. |
