I have to share the story about how Janie and I became acquainted here on YT. I didn't know who she was, really, but every day there would be a profile page message from her with an inspirational picture or piece of artwork.

The first couple times, I replied with a simple "Thanks" or whatnot. But they kept coming! Day after day, week after week, there would be a profile page note from this woman I didn't really know. Was she a stalker? :O To be honest, it got a little aggravating. Each day, I'd have to open my profile page and view the picture so it didn't keep showing up in my new messages alert.

But they were nice and inspirational messages, pictures designed to warm your heart -- a fawn in the snow, a bird at a feeder, an angel... I tried ignoring her, but I just couldn't do it. Here's this woman taking the time to message me daily. How could I be so mean as to ignore her? So at least weekly, maybe twice a week, I'd reply to her with a "Thanks." Eventually, we started sending more substantive messages. I discovered she had an Alaska connection. I learned about her adorable dogs.

It got to the point where I looked forward to her notes and replied to every single one. Occasionally, there wouldn't be a note from her -- and I'd panic! What happened to my note?! I'd gotten used to them!

I met Janie at the meetup in Alexandria, Va., several years ago. I still wasn't entirely sure she wasn't a stalker :p, but I found her to be the genuine article. She was the embodiment of all the kind, inspirational pictures she'd been sending to my profile page ever day -- one of those people who you meet and instantly trust and feel comfortable with.

Sadly, some of the drama on YT drove Janie away from YT, and my contact with her diminished. We were Facebook friends, but as her illness got worse it was hard communicating with her. I'd leave her a note from time to time to say I was thinking about her, but she was in too much pain to respond. I hope she got them. I hope she knew how much she meant to me.

I too will pray for her.

RIP Janie. I wish we had met. My prayers and thoughts are with your family. You will be missed!

I am just reading this. I never had the honor of meeting Janie... But it does touch my heart to see how many loved her!

What a touching story, Janie brightened my day many times with her wonderful graphics and I thought she had such a positive attitude and was such a wonderful role model. I'm so sorry to hear she lost the battle, but so relieved she's finally out of pain. RIP Janie.

Janie will be missed by many, she was a true inspiration, a real angel on earth...yes, now she is a heavenly angel and I'm sure will continue working with our God to make this a better place. May God Bless you Janie in Heaven.

Mike, your post brought tears to my eyes. Janie sounds like such a wonderful, caring, compassionate woman. What a testament to her for those of us who dind't have the pleasure to get to know her. Your post gives me a glimpse of how special she was to everyone she met. You certainly where blessed to have met her......RIP Janie....

Am now just seeing this. RIP Janie. I have been blessed to have meet you. Dale and your precious family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

RIP sweet Janie. I came to know her just as Mike did when she started leaving messages on my profile page when I first joined YT and later on FB. She was an inspiration to all and will be greatly missed. Special prayers for Dale and all her family.

Rest in Peace Janie.. Your words of inspiration and uplifting and positive attitude and kindness was a blessing to all of us that were on the receiving end. You are in a special place now, reserved for those with a heart of gold.

So sorry to hear about Jane's passing....... My thoughts are with her friends and family....she will be missed.

My apologies for the repost, but as I was sharing this story on FB, I decided to attach one of the pictures Janie used to send me. Coincidentally, the first one I grabbed explained perfectly why she sent her daily "hellos". :) Here it is.

One day we will meet Dear Janie, it was not in God's timing for us to do so in this life on earth.
I am so grateful that I had the chance to get to know you through YorkieTalk, to be your friend. I have missed the phone chats with you, yet always in your pain and suffering you were always asking about others and showing so much love of others. What a special lady you are.

I know you are smiling and reaping all the Blessings that God has there, if you see our Cassie, Please hold her and give her kiss's for us. In my mind I picture you are surrounded by lots of Yorkies, Dobies, etc. the many loving pets that we and others here had to give back to the Lord.
Upon hearing this song, you came to my mind, I am so thankfull in knowing you are Free from no more pain nor suffering.


Thank you so much Janie for all that you taught me, I learned so much from you, you were truely a God Sent into our lives.
We shall treasure our memories, never could say good bye, it was always till we meet one day.
