good thoughts and prayers please My mom called us this morning. My dad has been having chest and arm pains for a couple of weeks. He had a stress test last week that they sd showed no blockage saying it was not his heart. This morning it started again at 3 am. By 800 he agreed to go to the hosp. Dr sd he had a heart attack within 12 hrs before then. They did a heart cath and sd he did have a blockage. Since he told dr he was allergic to aspirin they did a balloon procedure. Mom gave him a baby aspirin the last time he was in pain and nothing happened. He was told a long time ago he might be allergic. THe dr sd they have to treat him like it was 20 yrs ago. They are going to test for an allergic reaction to aspirin. Sd they will know usu within 12 hrs if the artery closed again. If so, they will do a stent. He is in icu now. I am so worried.\ though I know he is a fighter. He is a colon cancer survivor. Please, thoughts and prayers needed. Ironic: It's my mom's family with heart problems. Out of 8 kids, 6 have had heart surgeries. My dad's family, none. |

I will keep your Dad in my prayers. They can do so much with heart conditions. Hopefully he will turn out not ot be allergic to aspirins. |

Thanks for all prayers and good thoughts. He came home a few hours ago. They said it was a minor heart attack. They decided not to put in a stent since it did not clog up again. The cardiologist told him if he had ANY chest pain again, to call 911. He seems ok. Now just to get him to listen to the dr and mom. The no salt thing will be hard for him to obey. He was given a lot more meds and has to go to cardiac rehab in a few weeks. Thanks again!:) |

I'm so sorry to hear your dad has had heart problems. I will pray for his complete and total recovery. It's so scary hearing heart disease, but thank goodness they have come so far in treatment. Hugs to you! I hope all goes well! |
