Sylvia, sending prayers for both you and Bruce. |
Thinking about you and Bruce today - happy thoughts :) |
Adding prayers! I hope all is going well for Bruce and you were able to get to the hospital. Check with friends & family -- I am sure there is someone who would be happy to help in emergencies. I know it is hard to ask, but it is important for you to be able to be with your husband when medical emergencies happen. Take care of yourself too! |
Keeping you in our thoughts & prayers! |
Bruce came home yesterday. He is doing fine. When I called 911 for him the operator told me to give him an aspirin. I asked Bruce if he knew where the aspirin were (he is the only one that uses the 325mg aspirin). He said he last had them in the garage. So I went into the garage (now this is around 4 in the morning, I am still half asleep as I take an Ambien at night), and I caught my foot against something and went headlong onto the floor. I really hurt my foot bad. I haven't been able to put much weight on it. It is still badly bruised. My neighbor brought me over an Ace bandage the other day and said she thinks I have broke something. When Bruce looked at it yesterday when he got home he said he is almost positive I have broken something. I have been keeping off the foot as much as I can, and keeping it elevated. But I did call my orthopedic doctor yesterday, and only got the voice mail. I left a message so am hoping his office calls me today and I can get the foot exrayed. Now Bruce is home he will be able to drive me to the doctors if I can get an appointment. Although I think all they can do is to tell me to stay off the foot until it heals. But, the important thing is Bruce is home!!!! Oh, and the chest pains weren't a heart attack. They say he had a mild case of pneumonia (they only told him that Tuesday night!) |
I am so glad Bruce is home and that it wasn't a heart attack. I hope you can get in to see the doctor for your foot. |

As for your foot, I hope it feels better soon. I believe if it is a break further up your food they can do something, but if it is a toe they can't do anything for you. :( Please keep us updated! I hope it doesn't hurt too badly hugs from me and puppy kisses from Rylie!!! |

I too just came across this! I had no idea. I am so sorry you two are going through all this. Saying prayers for you and Bruce. |
I am so glad it wasn't a heart attack! It's great that he's home and feeling better. I hope you can get your foot looked at soon! Everything seems to happen at once, doesn't it? |

I called the orthopedic doctor on Wednesday after Bruce got home. I got the darned answering machine and I left a message. His office didn\'t get back to me! My foot is still bruised, the swelling seems to have gone down some. I am keeping off it as much as I can. When I am on my feet I put an ace bandage on my foot. I know I should have tried to get back to the orthopedic guy, but I figure all he will do is X-ray my foot and tell me to stay off it. |
That has to hurt soooooooooo much! If you need something stronger, medical supply shops have like a cloth bootie that laces up and they support your ankle. They also have stronger supports. I imagine it swells when you are up on it. Get well soon. |
