SIL needs prayers - Septic shock
 
Here I am again, only this time it is on behalf of my sister-in-law. My brother just called me and told me she was in the ICU battling septic shock, caused from a UTI.

My SIL has had Multiple Sclerosis for almost 20 years and has recently gotten a lot worse. She didn't know she had a UTI until it hit her like a bolt of lightning yesterday while they were out shopping.

Her blood pressure was 78/48. They are pumping antibiotics into her, along with some type of medicine to raise her blood pressure. I hope she can conquer this....she already has a compromised immune system which isn't a good thing to have right now.

Please say prayers for her and send good thoughts her way tonight. She really needs them.

Prayers are going up. I am all too familar with septic shock. I pray she makes it through! Big hugs!

UPDATE about SIL
 
My SIL is still in the hospital. Long story short: The septic shock is under control; however, she had a heart attack while at home, and before she went to the ER. Her heart was damaged. They don't know how much damage was done yet, but she will have a stress test in a couple of days to find out the extent of the damage.

Please continue to keep her in your prayers.

Update
 
We found out this morning good news regarding SIL's stress test. It was negative. The doctors couldn't believe it. Ahh, the power of prayer! She is going home tomorrow morning. She is still not going to be doing very well because of her MS and the after-affects of the septic shock and mild heart attack. It will take a while for her to regain her strength. My brother is going to have to hire someone to be with her full-time while he is not working.

THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND KIND THOUGHTS!

Sending prayers...my mother has had MS for over 30 years! I know all too well how hard it is on a family. I wish yours much strength!

That tells me that your mom is a fighter, too. I'm afraid my SIL is succumbing to it more and more each day. It has already begun to affect her speech now. It has traveled up the spine and into the brain.

30 years is a long time to suffer with MS or with any disease for that matter. I hope she is doing well today. I'm sending prayers her way, too.
