What a day! Today started out fantastic! First night Precious slept thru the night without going potty in her crate. Woke up to get ready for the big day I "had" planned. Today is my middle child's 8th birthday so we were getting ready for the party. Well as I'm getting ready in my bathroom my son comes screaming dad's lying on the ground in the front yard!!! I rush outside to find my husband unable to move lying on his back. A million things cross my mind, heart, back, broken leg (his left leg was turned sideways next to him) I knelt down next to him and he said I can't move my legs. Panic mode!!! People started arriving early for my son's b.day party (thank GOD) and assisted with getting him loaded up for the hospital. He's immediately seen in our local ER and they give him a shot of morphine for the pain. Well about 5 minutes later he started having severe chest pain. So they bring him to Xray to see what's going on. To make a reaaaally long story short, he had gallbladder surgery 2 years ago and think now he has complications from that and will require a followup with his surgeon Monday. On top of that if he is still in pain on Monday for his back he'll have to have an MRI to rule out a slipped disc. Unfortunatley where we live unless your back is broken or you have a stroke an MRI on the weekend isn't considered an emergency. So tonight my DH is in much pain but loaded with pain meds. I'm asking all YT readers to say a small prayer for relief of his symptoms!! :( I hate that my son's 8th birthday started and ended like this and that we missed his birthday party but thank God for good friends and family who made sure the show still went on even though we couldn't be there. |
Bless your heart. That had to be terrifying. I will be praying for your husband and for you too. I am glad your son was able to have his party but I am sure he missed you both being there. |
WOW!!! I will say a prayer for your DH. I hope he gets well soon and the pain goes away fast. Happy Birthday to your son. :D |
Thanks for the prayers! He is finally resting. Crossing my fingers and hoping the night goes well for all!:dogzzz: |
OMG I'm so sorry for you're husband and son. DH is in my thoughts and prayers. |
Wow, that was quite a day. Sending out good wishes to you and DH.:getwellso |
Just seeing this. I hope everything is going better. Sending prayers... |
OMG, I just read this. I'm so sorry, I hope your husband is already better by now. How scary for all of you. Sending prayers and good thoughts for all. |
Total bummer! Will be praying for you guys! If there is anything you need even if it's just an ear to vent to I'm your gal! Would love to help in any way I can! Get some rest! You deserve it! Will check in with you tomorrow! :-) |
Thanks so much for the prayers and kind words. Unfortunately a week later he's still in a lot of pain. If he's not better by Monday we're doing a followup for MRI to rule out slipped/herniated disc. We did however make it up to my son by "re-doing" his birthday cake and singing to him just us :) |
Chevy I have to deal with crazy fits for my back quite often and I know how bad it is to suffer thru. I hope they can find the cause of the problem. Is he able to move his legs currently? If he has continued numbness or tingling you may want to look into a specialist. B/c 9 times out of 10 that numbness or tingling is due to pressure on a nerve. |

He has pain/burning sensation down his left leg. The doctor (GP) thinks it's inflammed muscles causing them to pinch the sciatic (sp?) nerve. However after a week on muscle relaxers/pain meds things should've been better. The MRI should show exactly what the cause is, whether spinal or muscular. Hopefully after that we'll know which route to go....physical therapy, massage therapy or chiropractic and GOD FORBID surgery. I was hoping it'd all work itself out by now but so far, no luck. |
