Please keep Morgan in your prayers and thoughts! Hi everyone! I know I haven't been actively posting in a long time but I have been around every now and then to read and check on my favorite people/yorkies. I'm asking everyone to keep Morgan in their thoughts and prayers this Wednesday. She is going in for bilateral LP surgery and I'm a nervous wreck. As some of you might remember, Morgan also has asymptomatic MVD so this is a big concern for me since she's going under anesthesia. I had a blood panel done and re-did her bile acids last monday. Blood panel was excellent thankfully. Her bile acids were pre-8.5 and post-70. The pre is the best its ever been and the post is about the same as its been in the past. So at least it hasn't gotten worse. I'm taking her to the surgeon I used to work for so I know she's going to be in excellent hands. She has at least grade 3 LP. It may have gotten worse since the last time she was checked over a year ago. I noticed this winter that she was having more trouble walking then she usually does which made me start worrying about her knees getting worse. She just turned 4 on tax day so I want to get the surgery done while she's still young and before it gets any worse. I'm just so worried. She is my first dog and I love her so much. I don't know what I would do if something happened to her. Anyway, thank you for listening to my ramblings and please keep Morgan in your thoughts and prayers. |
I'm sorry Morgan has to go threw this surgery Kellie. I will keep her in my prayer's for a safe and successful surgery and a speedy recovery. I remember when you first got her. Four years already, that's hard to believe. Time just flies by. |
Morgan will definitely be in my prayers. I've been wondering about you. Glad to see you again! :) |
Aww bless her heart! Morgan & you will definately be in my thoughts and prayers. I've been wondering where you were! :) Big Hug to you and Morgan. :hug60: |
My goodness, it is so hard to believe Morgan is 4 years old. I remember when you got her. Both of you will be in my thoughts and prayers are coming your way for her surgeries. I am glad you trust your surgeon and that he will do the very best for your little one. Do you think he will let you be in the room? I know life is busy for you but please let us know how her surgery went and hey, also check in from time to time...:D |
Sending prayers for you and Morgan. And a few hugs for you... you must be so nervous! I know I would be. |
I will keep Morgan in my prayers. |

Her appt is at 8 am on wednesday so I'm going to work afterwards. Even if the dr said I could stay and watch I don't think will. I think i would get kicked out anyway because i'd be so nervous and hovering over her. I am going to ask him to only allow certain senior techs to do her anesthesia and if i can pick her up the next morning if she is off her IV. sometimes when they get bilateral surgery its too hard for them to walk the next day and its just easier on the owners for the dog to stay another day but seeing as i know how to take care of post-op patients i should be able to take her home as long as she doesn't need IV fluids or meds anymore. She'll have two naked little chicken legs and no bandages. She's also too small for a fentayl pain patch so the metacam will hopefully be enough. i think it will. anyway thanks for the kind words and prayers. i'll try to start posting more again. |

I've been on YT the past few weeks just reading posts and looking for info but haven't posted. I'll try to now. Glad to know I was missed. :) |
Kellie - you and sweet Morgan will be in my thoughts before Wednesday, and especially on Wednesday. I will be watching for an update. I know surgeries/anesth are so worrisome, but I also know that you, of all people, made excellent choices in surgeons and prep and timing for Morgan - so I hope you can take a little bit of comfort in that :). Big hugs, Kellie! |

I shaved her down the other day so I won't have to worry about dealing with her hair. She looks like a little deer with her skinny legs and little round head. Its so funny watching her prance around in her buzz cut. I'll have to take a picture tomorrow after her pre-surgery bath. |
Would love to see her 'buzz' cut.:D Had to do that to my Pommie before he had his bi-LP surgery. He did great. I know that your extra worry is the bile acid number. I'm learning all about those numbers right now. Prayers that all will be fine. ~Joanne~ |
Keeping Morgan in my prayers! |
I'll definitely say a prayer for a safe and successful surgery. You know in your heart and mind that she is in excellent hands. Sometimes I think knowing everything about the actual procedure is worse. Hugs to you both and looking forward to hearing updates. xo |
Kellie, you know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and Morgan. Will definitely be looking for updates. :) remember, you can call if you need to talk. Hugs, Bo |
