I'm Hurting
 
Yeah, that almosst says it all. My Father went to the hospital at 6 pm and passed away at 3:30 am on Saturday. He died due to a massive infection that did not respond to any drugs. I am devastated and can't seem to stop crying. My dad was in Arizona. I had to call my son who is on the East Coast to tell him that his Pops had died. Since I was a single parent, my dad stepped in for Andy. They were as thick as theives. Hearing Andy cry and I couldn't do anything. This is really a bad time for me and I don't know when it will get better.

I am so sorry and I know how this feels. I have lost both of my parents and I miss them everyday. The pain will go away but not the memories.

I am so sorry, I know all to well how hard it is not to be able to comfort your loved ones when they are upset.
It is awful what happend to your Dad. I am sure that your Father knew that you loved him, and I hope that gives you some comfort. My prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I know it is so terrible to lose a parent. Crying is expected at a time like this. One day the hurt will ease and you will cherish your memories of your Dad, but I don't think you ever feel the same after losing your Mom and Dad. My heart goes out to you and your son. Hugs

I am so sorry! I had a friend die this way about a month ago. Some infection that her body just couldn't fight. It is hard enough to lose a parent, but when it is so unexpected it makes it harder, I think. Wish you could have been with your son to comfort each other when this happened. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you all so very much for your messages. I just talked to my brother who's in Arizona with my mom and he said that the death certificate reads that Dad died of Cardio/Pulmonary Arrest. My brothers went to the funeral home to day to pick up Dad, so he's now sitting on the mantle. They also helped put up a Christmas tree and decorations on the house for mom. Jon said that the neighbors in the community where mom is living are just wonderful. Andy, my son, is probably going to Arizona for Christmas so my mom is not alone. That just means that I am going to be alone over the holiday. Oh well, such is life.

Hurting
 
I am so sorry for your loss. Its never easy to lose a parent. I lost my Mother 2 yrs ago to Lung Cancer and feel like it was just yesterday. But now I can think of her and not cry. It will get easier to bear.
