special thoughts needed.. Swine Flu
 
I have a niece, nephew and Mom with swine flu. I have 2 of mine and also myself came down with all the symptoms but tested negitive. We have been in bed for 2 days. My oldest daughter has a terrible kidney infection now. She is passing nothing but blood. She was on antibiotics for strep when she got it..so they added another script for her to take. If not better in 48 hours she has to go back in. In the middle of this my son has a bad sprang and has to wear a splint for 6 weeks. My son showing signs of the flu tonight so I will take him in the morning to get tested.

I have been in that office more this week than the last 10 years...

Might want to retest if symptoms persist. I have read in our paper that some have initially tested negative and then test positive. I looked online to see if they were saying the same thing and they are: Rapid Swine Flu Test Misses Many Infections: MedlinePlus I think the rapid test is only valid if you get a positive. A negative does not absolutely mean a negative.

Sorry to hear so many in your fqmily are fighting illness. Saying a prayer you all recover quickly!

Melissa, I am so very sorry to hear about all the sickness in your family. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Wish I lived close enough to bring you some homemade chicken noodle soup :) Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

If your daughter is passing blood only, you need to get her to the doctor stat.... That's not normal, even if she has a kidney infection. It could indicate kidney failure and I am not trying to scare you, but I would be very worried if my child was doing that... Hope everyone gets well and my prayers are with you.....

Sending best wishes for all of you to have a speedy recovery.
It has to be so hard to feel so sick and have to take care of other's
too. Hope your household get's back on their feet real soon.

My son and I AND my stepdaughter had the Swine flu a couple of weeks ago... its so hard when dealing with the flu in children because they feel SO bad, especially if you're sick yourself. Hope everyone starts feeling better really soon! Our cases were fairly mild and we were only REALLLLY sick for about a day and half with about 2 1/2 days worth of fever. The doctor did tell us that the test will only show positive for 3 or 4 out of every 10 that are actually positive...

Thank you all! My daughter is doing alot better. The antibiotic they gave her this time cleared it up really fast. They want to retest her urine again in 7 days to make sure everything is clear.

oh my goodness!!!!!!!! I just saw this. Missy I have been thinking about you for the past few days and didn't realize you had all this sickness in your family. I hope everyone is better now.

Well I was back at the er with my duaghter on thursday. She had an allergic reaction to her medication and couldn't swollow. They gave her a few shots and watched her for a long time. They put her on different antibiotics and started her on a steriod. I hope this does the trick. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.

My neice and nephew are both doing great and can go back to school to tuesday.
