My Brother is Leaving for Afgan today...
 
PLEASE keep my brother Adrian, a Seg. in the Marines in your good thoughts today. He leaves for Afgan at 1 pm (Cali) time today, for a year.

I am getting very sad, but trying to remain positive :(

I certainly will keep him in my prayer's. I don't miss a night
praying for all our women and men over there. They need all
the prayer's they can get and so deserve them.
May he return safe and sound when his tour of duty ends.

Oh Nicole, I am sure this is very hard for you and your family and sending you big hugs to be brave for your brother. It is a very difficult sacrific he is doing for all of us and our freedoms. Your family will be in my thoughts.

Thanks. I am fighting the tears right now, my stomach is stressed, and I just feel like everyday from now on I am going to be on edge...

I keep telling myself to stay positive...I just hope I can :(

Thank you, he really loves what he is doing. This would have been his last year of his tour, but he decided to re-enlist. He wants to be a Drill Seg. at the base in San Diego. So far he has been doing very well with all his exams and training, the 'higher ups' really like him, so we are really hoping that he does indeed get his orders for Drill Seg. in Cali when he comes back :)

I know how you are feeling, and I really mean that. My son spent a year in Afghanistan a little over a year ago. That year was the longest in my life. But these guys that are sent over there are very well trained and know what they are doing. The most difficult part of it was the communications or rather lack of it. They just can't pick up the phone and call home whenever they want. And don't ask for details on what they are doing, it's classified, or at least what my son did was. Take it easy and if you want to talk to someone who's been through it, go ahead and sent me a PM. Good luck, and try not to cry when talking to him, you don't want him going over there worrying about you, he needs to focus on what's going on over there. I hope this helps.

I cannot even begin to imagine what you are feeling and going through right now. :( I don't even know what to say to make you feel better. Remind yourself that He is in God's hands. Pray for him daily. (((hugs)))

For you, your brother, and your entire family, the BIGGEST hug I can muster... I am sending to you ALL !!

My nephew was over, for nearly a year, and came back in March. It is a very difficult time. I found help and strength in some groups on line, including Facebook. Many others to help you! Although your Yorkie friends are terr-rrific too!

I sent "care package" after care package, to busy myself, and anything I could think of to make him smile even for a minute. I sent photos, of the changing seaon, and all sorts of goofy stuff, he share with his comrades. When he came back he said they all looked forward to the packages I sent, because they were fun, not sensible.

Again for you all... the biggest )))HUG(((, and bless you, each and all! Surround yourself with love! Hug a Yorkie!!

Cool! I am getting stuff together this week for a "Care Package" - I told me sis that we have to make it fun too! Thanks for some of the ideas :) I like the photos of the seasons changing ;)

I can imagine how sad you must have been to say goodbye and how difficult this must have been. I will be more than happy to keep him in my prayers.
