Prayers Appreciated.
 

Last Thursday (8/6/2009) not only did my little one start school we also found out that my husbands grandfather has a tumor on his brain as well as 4-5 spots of cancer. He woke up that morning and did not know who he was, where he was, or who any of us were. We immediately took him to the ER where they did a CT and found the tumor but the hospital we took him to was very unorganized so we had him transfered to the hospital I work at. Once he arrived there he went through a MRI and another CT. This led to finding a spot on his lung and also one on his testicle. Through some other various testing we have also found out that it is also in his lymphnodes. Unfortunately the dr's at the hospital cannot find out what type it is exactly. Initially they thought it was a germ cell cancer but now they are not so sure. And when they went in and to biopsy the lung and testicle they said they could not find anything but it was still showing on the MRI and CT. We are really at a loss of what to do. He is getting to where he recognizes us but is still talking out of his head. IE: The other night he and my husband went fishing and caught a bunch of mermaids out of Lake Gibson in Florida (we live in TN) they proceeded to bury them in the backyard in sardine cans to preserve them b/c did you know that you can sell a mermaid for $1000.00? Me either. And then about 2:50 this morning the Indian Maidens came to visit and took some blood from him. They are going to do a ritual to make him all better. All we do is laugh agree and pray like there is no tom. Sooooo today he has decided he wants to go home and is leaving the hospital AMA (against medical advice). We are just at a loss and really don't know which way to turn. I pop on and off of here just to check in and make sure I am not going insane. So any prayers would be well appreciated. I will try to keep everyone up to date as much as possible.

Since we are home he is accusing everyone of trying to rob and kill hime. He even believes that we are in cohorts with the doctors at the hospital to try to kill him and get it over with. Of course this is not true and as a family we understand that the tumor is the cause of his irrational thinking. From a medical perspective we still do not know what we are dealing with. He started chemo yesterday just to get a jump start as the dr. stated. The treatment went okay of course he was sick and really tired afterwards. I will keep you guys posted as I get more info.

I feel for all of you in this situation. My best friend in school (a long time ago...!) had a father who had a brain tumor and the things he thought were going on were just unbelievable at times. I pray that with the advanced medical care today you all have a good outcome. :heart to

He has received 3 treatments this week and has just been worn out. (who wouldn't be!) We still do not know what we are dealing with. The Dr. says we are going to keep up the treatments for 4-6 weeks to see if anything responds to it, if so of course we will continue them if not we are going to look at radiation. Thankfully the hospital that I work at has one of the Cyberknifes so that the radiation can be directly targeted at the tumor and does less damage to the other parts of the body! We will see!:ghug: Thanks for all of the thoughts and prayers.
