She is aggressive with the sheltie, when we play with the sheltie or show the sheltie attention. This has been hard on everyone. CC (yorkie) came from a home where she was aggressive with the other female yorkie they had, but we hoped she was aggressive because the other was also a yorkie and female. Both of mine are males. All are fixed. She is not aggressive all the time, just maybe once every week or two, but has escalated from snapping to actually sinking her teeth in, and now the sheltie, who is very shy and timid, is fighting back. Am I fighting a losing battle | Hello, from Bently 1 and some years ago I had a 4 and 1/2 lb female yorkie that was aggressive towards other small dogs and people. Over time discovered she had been in a cage from puppyhood to about when she was 1 years old. When she arrived at mine home, realized Sopia, her name, had fleas, very thin and scared. Calling friends with yorkies, reading books about behavioral problems found that she had a fear aggression problem. Talked to the breeder in learning that Sopia had never been in a home setting, no social contact with people or other yorkies. No wonder that breeder was glad to be rid of her!!!!!!!! However, with a lot of love, patience and some training Sopia became the sweetist little dog. You might want to read some books or purchase tapes from Cesar Millan the Dog Whisper on the National Geographic channel for he has delt with many aggressive dogs from the largest to the smallest like yorkies. Just a thought. :) |
