My Brother this time... My brother is having surgery tomorrow. This past July my brother was in a car accident. He was choppered out from the scene with a shattered femur. He has since lost his job and has endured months of pain. He had a titanium rod in his leg but unfortunately, his bone has stopped healing. He is having a second surgery tomorrow. This is has been such a long and hard challenge for him. We are praying for a successful surgery obviously. There is still a chance that he will lose his leg--not tomorrow but if the bone does not heal. It just seems like he takes one step forward and gets thrown 2 steps back. The car accident was not his fault. A pizza delivery guy ran a stop sign and hit my brother and family. He had his wife and daughter with him. Thank you! |
Good God Jamie! What else?! Im sorry that you have so much going on in your family. It goes unsaid...i will add him to my prayer list and will be watching for good news of his leg healing...i hope you are holding up okay...big hugs from your friends here in NC!:hug:;) |

I am praying your brother is doing better and that he makes a speedy recovery. |
My brother's surgery went well. We will not know for a while if it was successful. He is experiencing a lot less pain this time around, not having to deal with the trauma of the accident. He also is allowed to use his leg some already. After his accident he wasn't allowed to use it for 2 months. Ugh, that was very difficult for him. Thanks for your continuted prayers. We really appreciated them! |
I'll keep him in my prayers. |
YIKES Jamie - I am so very sorry. I was out of town when you started this thread last Wednesday. I will keep your brother in my thoughts and prayers. What a terrible accident - a tremendously painful injury. I will definately keep him in my thoughts and prayers. Will he be using a bone stimulator as part of his therapy? When my son shattered his femur (just below the point where it joins his hip) when he was 17 in addition to physical therapy, he used a bone stimulator. The recovery took almost 5 years but 9 years later, Earl's pain in manageable and he is able to do anything he wants to do including working as a welder's apprentice which is a physicaly challenging job. Please reassure your brother from one who has been there, done that, that THERE IS HOPE that he will get better. Sending  and :hands:. hugs cindy |
