I could really use some prayers or good thoughts for my mom
 

3 weeks ago my mom fell on some black ice. She thought she was ok just sore. After vomiting for 5 days (you think she's gonna tell anyone? NO!) My youngest sister took her to the ER. They told her she had some herniated discs in her neck, gave her meds and sent her home. She went to her dr the next day and they did a cat scan and found the herniated discs but also that she had a sever cuncussion.After 5 days it was still severe, I'm afraid to know what it would have been that day. Anyway, the dr said she had some swelling on her brain and a possible small bleed, again, gave her meds and sent her home. In the 3 weeks she has had 2 good days without the pain. I spoke with her tonight and she said the pain is worse than the migrains she gets:eek:. So, monday she goes back to her dr and is requesting an MRI to see if there is swelling or bleeding still. My mom is the strongest person I know and 3 weeks of this pain is destroying her ontop of everything else in her life that has fallen into her lap. So please, I know that there are so many out here asking and needing prayers but even just some good vibes and thoughts that you can send would be greatly appreciated, she lives in NJ and I'm so very far away from her.

I'm so sorry to hear your mom is in so much pain. I will pray that she feels better soon and that all her test turn out OK. Please let us know how she is doing.

Oh I am so sorry that your mom has suffered such severe injuries. Hope the docs finally figure out what is going on. We've all done what your mother did.......think it isn't as bad as it really is. Prayers for your mom. ~Joanne~

Thank you all so much for the prayers. I spoke with my mom the other night and she sounded really good. The dr gave her different meds for the pain and some valium to relax her since when the pain gets bad she tenses up and then the muscle spasms start and .....good grief what a circle! The dr still won't do another scan on her because according to the ER scan there was no bleed and very little swelling. But keep the good thoughts coming if you can (I know there are so many more that need them) but her dr is keeping her out of work indef and being a teacher they are talking of letting her go which means no ins and no money coming in.

Just stumbled across this thread. Keeping your mother in my thoughts and prayers. I sincerely hope that she recovers quickly!

Sending prayers for your mom. If she hurt her head that bad, I can't imagine how sore the rest of her was, Bless her heart. I pray everything heals quickly so she can get back to normal.

I have just seen this thread and will be happy to include your mother in my prayers and will keep positive thoughts. I hope that she continues to mend and heal quickly. This economy is so frightening and to be in this type of situation can be very stressful. :hug:

Thank you guys for all of your prayers and good thoughts! They are working!!!! My mom still has bad headaches but they are getting less and less. she is now down to about every two days she gets one.

I just saw this thread. I'm glad to hear that your mom is doing much better. I wish her a speedy recovery!
