Prayers for our Cousin, please Our cousin, Neil, had a kidney transplant last week and has developed a staph infection in the peritoneum (where his catheter for dialysis goes into his abdomen). He's very ill with an extremely high heart rate. They moved him to ICU and are watching him closely tonight. His family is asking for prayers from everyones circles and I could not think of a better place than YT for that request. The upside is that the kidney is working very well and his blood sugars are good. Thank you, jeanie |
sending prayers and hugs for neil right now... have faith |
Sending healing prayers his way. God bless. |
God bless his little soul. I hope he's up and about in no time. |
I will keep him in my prayers. |
I will keep him in my prayers. |
I will keep him in my prayers. I, too, have to have a kidney transplant sometime probably in December, and right now I, too, have a dialysis cath. So, I kind of know what he's going through. Minus the infection. I hope all goes well for me when the time comes. But, right now, I hope he gets better. :hands: |

Thank you for sharing. Please keep us updated on your progress. Prayers that you stay well throughout your transplant progress. We had an update last night and this morning. Neil is recovering and should be moved back to his room sometime today. The kidney is doing great & so is his donor. He still has the infection but his heart rate is doing better and his digestive system is starting to work, he may start liquids later today if he's up to it. Thank you, everyone. YT prayers work. |
Prayers for Neil. Glad he is improving. |
Neil is back in ICU. The kidney is working great. He had 3 different infections (they figured it out through cultures) and they are treating them. He started with a few liquids but is back on IV until tomorrow. His donor stopped to see him last night, she's doing good. He did sit up for a short time last night and walked a short way this morning. Thank you all for your thoughts. |
Glad to hear he's doing better. Continued thoughts and prayers for you. :) I hope you don't mind, but I have a bunch of questions. How long has he been on dialysis? Has he ever had hemo or just peritoneal? Is the donor a family member or was he on a waiting list? If the list, how long was he on it before there was a donor? What types of tests did they do to find a match? Sorry for all the questions. You don't have to answer all of them, if any, if you don't want. I was just curious. |
I'll remember your cousin in prayer! I'm glad to see he's doing better! What a scare...that infection! |
Thank you so much. Last night's update on Neil was that he's doing much better, is getting the dialysis cath out today, has had 2 meals and is walking and sitting up. He's still being treated for the infections but he's recovering out of ICU. Thank you YT, your prayers are strong. |
That's good news. Glad your cousin Neil is doing much better. I will keep him in my thoughts and prayer's for a complete recovery. |
I just now seen this, sending more healing prayers for Neil:hands::hands::hands: |
