2 Men, 1 Capsized Boat, 4 Hours
This is a Praise the Lord request!
My dad and a friend who was visiting from out of town went out on a lake -- a big lake in a state park in Florda, the weather was bad, the water rough -- if the friend hadn't been in town visiting & plans made weeks in advance, my dad would have never have been there. But my dad & Randy set out to spend the WHOLE DAY fishing.
They had been fishing for about 2 hours, and caught some fish even though it was rough water. Well things got even rougher when the boat capsized! Everything was thrown out. My dad & Randy clung to the boat - they were in the middle of this huge lake, no one else was out on the water - everyone else paid attention to the weather. My dad had a cell phone in his pocket - but once in the water it was ruined. Randy had left his phone in the truck - as he already knew he couldn't get service out at this lake.
They figured it would take 4 hours or more to drift to the shore. My mom wasn't worried - she was out shopping :rolleyes: - Not sure where Randy's wife was - I thinking visiting old friends (they used to live in the area)
4 hours later, in the cold, rough water, my dad & Randy were still hanging on, but not near the shore, when God sent 2 ANGELS -- 2 men, who had not been to that lake in over 5 years, 2 men, who like my dad & Randy - were strong Christian men who serve others in ministry. These 2 men saved my dad's life!!
While my dad's main focus is serving as an elder in his church, heading up a search committee to find a new pastor, being the front man for lots of other church things & continually serving with a ministry that reaches children living at the dump in Managua, Nicaragua. These 2 angels have a ministry called Good Sam -- I'm not exactly sure who their ministry reaches - but this week they were more than Good Samaritans to my father & Randy!!!!
