I just had a nice long talk with Michelle. She is not doing as well as we had hoped. She cannot stay on her feet very long or she will get nauseous. Also her head is still hurting. She is just going to have to take it slow and pray that her body adjusts to everything. I pray she starts feeling better soon. Steven, Michelle's oldest son, got food poisoning yesterday and David had to take him to the emergency room last night so David was up all night dealing with that. It seems like they just can't get a break. There is a little food stand near where they live and apparently Steven ate something there that gave him the food poisoning. Steven and Shawn both have type 1 diabetes so it is very dangerous for both of them if they become ill. Shawn, Michelle's 11 year old son, has a big surprise coming tomorrow. The school had nominated Shawn to receive a special day with the Tomball Police Department and Shawn was one of the 10 children chosen that have been going through a hardship. Shawn will have his own police officer for the day, he will get to check out the police department, ride in a police car and all that and then they will take him to Wal-mart and he will get to spend $200 on anything he wants. I think that is wonderful. Thanks for all of your prayers and support. Hugs to all. |
I will continue to keep Michelle in my prayer's. It's good to hear she's doing her best to get up and around. I just can't imagine what this poor girl has been threw these past months. The Christmas season is here and miracle's are known to happen. I pray one come's to Michelle so she can get back on her feet. That is wonderful that Shauwn is having a special day with the local police dept and a shopping spree on top of it. A little fun I am sure is needed at this time to get his mind off his mom. Bless you and your family this Christmas season. Hugs, |
Sadly, I have to report that Michelle is back in the hospital. Our hopes were short lived. About 1 a.m. this morning Michelle's head started leaking fluids heavily and David took her to the hospital. She feels like her head might be infected again. She is not sure what they are going to do this time. I will keep you all posted as soon as I know something. They have her on antibiotics and with it being the weekend they may just not do anything right away. Michelle does not want them to rush to any decision. Your continued prayers are so much appreciated. Carol, a Christmas miracle would be wonderful. We sure need one. Shawn is at the police station now. I am anxious to hear about how he day went. Hugs. |
Barbara, I am sure part of why they send her home so quickly is the chance of infection. I hope they can help her this weekend so she is not just in there waiting. The ups and downs are just too much for anyone to bear and I pray you all can stay strong until Michelle is well again. Yes, Carol is right there may just be a Christmas Miracle. God Bless You All. Hugs and prayers, Joan |
Michelle talked to the doctors and they do think her head is infected but they think the infection is just between the lining of the brain and the skull because they are not seeing any spinal fluid mixed in. Some of the doctors want to go in and clean it out like they did last time but the others want to wait. These doctors keep telling Michelle that they have never had a case as difficult as hers. They are as frustrated as we are. Michelle is going to have another ct scan done this afternoon. The nurses have been unable to get an iv started so she might need a pic line but the lady that does those won't be in until Monday. Hopefully they will keep trying and get the iv going. All we can do is keep praying. Hugs. |
I haven't been on a lot lately so I wanted to see how Michelle was doing...... Barbara I'm sooo sorry Michelle is not out of the woods yet .... :( I was really hoping she was better.....Like Carol said, it surely would be wonderful if Michelle had a Christmas miracle. She has been battling this for too long......I certainly will be thinking of her extra hard on the 25th and wishing her good thoughts. I hope Shawn had a wonderful time....he sure needed the distraction even if for just a few hours......:hands: |
If prayers were raindrops ,,, Texas would be flooded...:rain: If there is a Christmas miracle coming Im sure it belongs to you .. Stay strong,, and know SO many people are praying for you and your family.. |
praying for your daughter :hug60: |
I just read this thread... My heart goes out to you and your family. Michele seems to be a very strong lady. I believe in miracles and my prayers will be with you each and every day. My daughter has an orbital eye tumor, pain so unbearable she vomited constantly. She is better now, a very long haul, but our miracle did come. Have faith and stay strong. My heart is breaking for you and your family. God bless each of you and may you all find strength in each other. |
I will pray for a miracle for Michelle to finally get relief. She has been through way too much. |
I will be praying for Michelle. She\'s been through so much and keeps having setbacks. I feel so bad for her and all of the family. I agree with others...it\'s no better time for a miracle than now, at Christmas. Hugs to all! |
We\'ve had miracles from prayers on this site before so let\'s all do some heavy duty praying, she has already taught us what strength and patience is all about. God Bless You Michelle!! |
Thank you all so much. Michelle is doing much better. She and David had a meeting with the doctors yesterday. It seems that Michelle had several things going on all at once. The leakage from her head turned out to be a boil that had developed in the incision and burst. There was no spinal fluid in the leakage so that was very good news. Michelle was extremely sick for about 3 days and could not keep anything down and the doctors suspect it was food poisoning since David and Steven also had it earlier and they all had ate at the same place. Yesterday Michelle starting walking some and she has been eating and keep everything down so we are praying she is out of the woods and will start regaining her strength. The doctors said Michelle is a chronic case and it may take her up to a year for her body to adjust to everything. The doctors did say they expect Michelle to be home for Christmas so we are praying for that so it will be a joyous Christmas. Many thanks for all the prayers, well wishes and cards. Hugs to all. |
