Reputable Breeders in Houston/Katy area
 
Im interested in getting a yorkie, and I want to make sure that is is from a reputable breeder. Iv been looking and I have found breeders such as Precious Paws of Houston but im not sure if they are reputable or not. Please help.

Hi, welcome to Yorkietalk. I am not familiar with that breeder but I looked at her website. Her yorkies are pretty. I don't care that much for her health guarantee. I did not see her mention a guarantee against genetic defects like liver shunt. Also it looks like she sells the pups at 8 weeks. It would be better if she kept them longer. Good luck in your search and please keep us updated.

She also mentions teacups in the FAQ and says her pups are between 2-6 pounds as adults. 2 pounds seems way too small to me.

If i get one from them then i am planning to get one that is 6 months old and I am planning to visit in a few days. They claim to have a lot of appointments for visits.

Precious Paws has terrible standards and they are very unprofessional. Don't go there!

Stay away from Fancy Pups in Pearland/Manvel too!

Fancy Pups before I was educated. She has no parents on site and offers ACA paper only. I called her before visiting the pups and did ask her if she was a breeder. She told me no that she was selling for friends. I trusted her..my fault. When I went to check out her pups I immediately fell in love with Hannah. I later learned a whole lot from Yorkie Talk and when I saw a puppy mill list here I saw the original owner in Oklahoma on that list. Hannah was a beautiful strong little puppy up until 8 mos. old when she was diagnosed with LCPD in her left hip. She did have surgery and is recovering well. I let Fancy Pups know but never received a response from my e-mail. Like I said I learned a lot but too late. I feel blessed to have the means to take care of Hannah but will never stop worrying about her siblings and parents. I love my little girl with all my heart and I guess she was just meant to be with me.

Yorkiemom1 would be a good person to talk to. Not sure if she is still breeding or not but it would be well worth talking to her.

I have a beautiful little girl that I got from Rosehill Yorkies here in Houston. Judy is great and will answer all of your questions... I know she is getting ready to ove but you might contact her.

I am talking to her now, thanks for the recommendation. Glad that Hannah is doing better. These phony breeders annoy me so much. All they care about is the money.

I have a male puppy available. He will be 5 months this week. Was holding onto him as a show prospect but have decided to place him in a pet home
