Might be moving to the Houston area Hello all... My hubby and I and our furperson might be relocating to the Houston area.. Neither of us have ever been there! His work is with the railroad and will be at the large yard I believe near East Houston. Could any of you be so kind as to lead us to a nice area to live? Thanks so much, Diana and Molly:animal36 |
Go to this forum...it is the best place if you are moving. They have a forum for every state and most big cities. Here is the direct link for Houston. The people on here are great and will answer all of your questions! We are looking at buying a house next year and I ask tons of questions all the time! Hello My husband works for the rail road also :) I enjoy Spring area and Tomball is a really nice area but I am not too famliar with the East side of Houston. The rail yards areas are not too nice, well the ones I have seen but there are a lot of beatiful place with in 20 min or so away from the yard if he does not mind driving. ;) |
Thanks so much for the info..I spent a few hrs last night reading that forum and you are right ..lots of info!!! BTW your little furperson is soooooooo cute Diana |
Hi! You will find lots of us in the Houston area. I am in Sugar Land and love it out here. It is on the SW side of Houston. |
My DH's corporate office is in Houston! It is a great place! You will love it! Good luck! |
Houston is awesome! We actually live in 2 places; our main residence is in East Texas, but we have apt. in Houston because DH is a consultant there. I also lived in Friendswood (between Houston and Galveston) for a long time. I loved living 30 minutes from Galveston...Clear Lake, Dickinson, League City, Friendswood, all are out I-45S and are nice places to live. I would stay away from Channelview (used to work out there), but Pasadena has made great strides in recent years, and they have worked hard cleaning the city up. Baytown seems to be okay, but it, Pasadena and Channelview are really close to the ship channel where all of the plants are located. I LOVE Houston! There is so much to do and so much to see. The best restaurants in the world are there and the shopping (I'm not a big shopper, but even I get excited about going to the Galleria, lol) is incredible! The Galleria area is definitely my favorite part of town. It is ethnically diverse, upscale without being snobby, and lots of things to do within a small radius. I've lived in or near Houston for most of my life. I have always been able to make a good living there, and it is very easy to navigate by car (just avoid rush hours). If you have any questions, ask away...I'd love to help! |
