Great! That is cool! We go to a lot of car shows, and I think there are some coming up in south of us.....who knows, we may run into each other somewhere (we like to travel). I know there are about four of us in NWA, but we have never met...just chatted on YT. |
yorkie Hi, my wife and I got our yorkie from n.w. AR. we live about 20 mi so. of Ft. smith. |
We don't live in NW Arkansas but my parents used to live in Rogers so am familiar with the area. We go to Grove, OK several times a year though and know that is really close to Arkansas. |

Grove is really close to Arkansas. We do several car shows in Grove and Jay (both of those towns). Plus, I love antiques and there are several shops up in that area! Nice to hear of people close by! (okay, so, you're not, but still):p |
We usually try to go to Grove in April and October. Maybe we could meet up next time. We camp and I usually stay at the camper during the day while my hubby fishes. I DON'T fish! Murfee always goes with us. |

Yay. That would be great! Do you do any of the antique shops? There is Har-Ber Village there on Grand Lake - it is an outdoor museum, it use to be free, but I think they charge now. There is also a dinner/show boat (an old paddle boat) that you can take around the lake (enjoy a dinner and show). Jay doesn't have much...there is a museum on their square and they do a Huckleberry Festival sometime (will have to look that up). There is said to be a big dog show in Grove this weekend......I don't know if I will get to go or not. We have a car show in Tahlequah (which I am thinking I can con my DH into driving up to Grove too) and one in Mtn. View, AR. (which we will more than likely NOT go to). |
What kind of car shows do you go to? My oldest son has a 1932 Ford (I think) that he enters in car shows. |

My DH and I have several "muscle" cars. 68 Camaro, 68 Firebird, 70 Chevelle and 70 El Camino. We currently only take the Camaro to shows, but we sometimes don't enter because we like to cruise around and stuff too..... We are in the process of (hopefully) getting a 68 Nova, 59 chevy pickup and a 70 Corvette. My husband "wheels and deals" all the time and he and my dad both have shops were they restore cars. My dad has a 59 Edsel (sp), a 68 chevy pickup that have both been modified (chopped, lowered, etc). He has had numerous cars in the past...a 49 Merc (I believe, it was like the one the band ZZ Top had), 37 Buick (Bonnie and Clyde car is what it reminded me of) and numerous MG's, Austin Heleys (sp), etc. We have a group of friends and family that we cruise w/. My inlaws have a 66 Chevelle and a 49 or so Dodge Power Wagon. Some other cars in our group: 62 Impala, 70 Nova, 67 and 69 Camaro, 57 Chevy, one Model A, etc. We are definitely a car family! (hee, hee). In fact, my dad and several of our family friends had a shop years ago (when they were younger) and wish they would have kept a lot of their cars from back then.....if they only did! Whoa! Anyway, I could talk cars all day.......but I would love to meet you. I will look through our calendar and see when/where we will be! No luck on the car show and dog show in Tahlequah and Grove this weekend! My DH has to work to finish a side job and my daughter's plans have changed too. Oh well...that is life! |
