Anyone in South Georgia here? We are getting ready to relocate to Valdosta and wondered if there are any groups or anything for the yorlies there? Anyone live there that knows of places to go with my baby? We'll be getting there at the hight of summer and am worried about my little one and my golden as they are more used to this alaskan weather. I'm sure when we pull out we'll have the heat going and when we arrive we'll be running the air. My poor golden loves the snow and cold and sometimes I have time getting her to come in after she's gone potty because she like to lay out in the snow. I'm really afraid the heat is going to be too much for her. Kim |
I live in North Florida, about 30 minutes from Valdosta. So far all I have found is Pets Mart, Target and the mall. Definitely don't go to Walmart. They have kicked me out twice... :D I have also taken Summerlin to Michael's, Hobby Lobby, and Kohl's. I can promise you that you'll have the air conditioner going when you get here if you are coming in the summer :) If there is anything I can help you get from here, let me know. I live right up the road from the welcome center. :animal-pa |

WOW! What a switch in climate for all of you! Welcome to the good ole south... |
Good Luck! I live close to Macon and I am ready to get OUT of Georgia. The hot weather here really sucks (90 degree weather in March and April) and it NEVER snows or gets below 20 degrees. I would stay in Alaska if I had the choice! |
Hi! I live in Leesburg, which is not far from Valdosta at all! Welcome to Georgia. We have only lived here for 1yr now and I love the weather...but HATE the gnats!! We also have a golden, but right now he is staying with my father-in-law in VA. Ciera doesn't mind the heat at all. When we are outside she plays and then comes and lays in the shade of the porch but she does drink alot more water then of course. It has been hot already. In the mid to upper 80's for the past week or so. |

Believe me given the choice stinky hot Georgia would not be where I would be going! We are originally from Florida and hate the weather there. March 28th...here in Alaska it is 19 degrees and none of the snow has melted off yet. Works for me I like it this way. The summers here are sooooooo gorgeous! I can wear long jeans and t shirts, our house (most all houses) has no air conditioning and we never break a sweat. The highest the temp has been was 80 (just barely) and it was only a day or 2. The rest of the summer it is usually a very nice 70-75. Just gorgeous! I would definately stay if I could. So not looking forward to that heat again. Kim |
